VAR (PL introduction 2019)

The only way this can possibly work is if teams are given a certain number of challenges in games. Even then we will still have issues.

We also need to sort out the true definition of the offside rule. For example of a player’s feet are onside but his body is leaning forward in an offside position. Such fine margins but we need this to be fully established so we can minimize the grey areas.

Offside definition is already known. In your example above, player is offside. The rule is any part of the body that can score. So head, torso, arse, leg foot constitutes offside. Hand or arm doesn't!!

Im all for it. Will take out the most frustrating part of the game. Just needs taking seriously by the fa. Video should be used but why not just have a second ref who just tells you what the fuck happened....

It’s been needed for a quarter of a century. The sooner it is here at every game the better

Why is there no VAR in the blue ribbon UEFA tournament? Let's look at tonight's game. Salah's goal was offside. Our goal was onside. Sterling should have had a penalty. VAR dictates that game ends 2-2 should we have converted the penalty. So instead of being as good as out of the tournament we should, fairly by the rules of VAR, be very much still in it. Just shows that tonight we did not get the rub of the green.

Our goal was just offside

VAR might of helped but it doesn't excuse what happened after Salah's opener (even if it was a similar decision as Sane's disallowed goal in the second half)

Don’t want it even after tonight. Offsides and tight ones like tonight can come and go. What isn’t forgivable is the dick head with the stick behind the net that ignored sterling getting took out. Incredible

This all day every day

Why oh why do some not want VAR ??!

That tackle tonight from Young on Aguero was a 100% penalty. It all happened in a flash and the ref wasn’t sure. So I won’t scream corruption. Instead he would have checked a monitor and given a penalty. The score line would be completely different.

It’s a joke so many can just accept the refs guess when so many cheats are on the pitch.

VAR would have shown what an excuse of a ref was officiating - people who oppose VAR are supporting the corruption of the PL

Has to come in. Not for every decision though.
For me it should be like tennis. 3 chances for each team a match and you only lose them if you’re wrong.

I won’t join the corruption bandwagon, I think refs have got a impossible job in today’s football, they need assistance

The two games have convinced me VAR is the way forward but it is not going to be plain sailing and the system is open to abuse.

It’s been flawed so far, but I’m fairly sure City would benefit from it in the long run.
