How is Liverpool football club accountable for people who are outside the stadium? It is a residential area and the club are powerless to do anything about it.

To compare what happened on Wednesday to Heysel is apples and oranges and for the record the hyesel stadium was falling apart and people went to proson for it. Also why would the club be held accountable for the actions of individuals; they didn't tell them to act a **** did they?

I wasn’t comparing Heysel to Wednesday I think you’ll find.

Nor did it discourage the planned attack on our coach.

To claim anything else is disingenuous at least.

There were more than a few yes but in comparison the the number of people in the stadium it was a comparatively small number, if was also a minority of the fans outsidevnot every fan outside threw missiles.

There may have also been people there who never went the match as Anfield is a residential area.

How are the club supposed to stop it, it was outside the ground?
I think you’re missing the point.. everyone outside saw what was going on. No one did anything to stop it... carry on with your clubs attitude and turn the other cheek

What were they supposed to do exactly? It takes a second go throw a bottle so how were they supposed to stop it and how do you know nobody said anything?

I agree that on the face of it the club didn't do anything to discourage it and I think the club should have had the vision to approach the police to enforce a restricted area with no people. The problem with that is that it is a residential area so how can you stop people from gathering there and it would make it impossible as no time before that when fans had greeted coaches there was never any missiles thrown so therefore there was no precedent for restricting access to residential streets.

You’re as deluded as your club. I’m out.... enjoy the semi final I hope you get absolutely mauled

You want a hostile environment for opposing teams coming to Anfield but you don't want to see thuggery of any type even if its confined to around 10-20 bottles/missiles as seen from the City Bus Video. Once identified then lifetime bans from Anfield would send out a message.

I blame the police

On a chance that you are not being sarcastic I would say the coach could have been protected better by the Police and to a lesser extent the Stewards. However the primary responsibility lies with the small minority of Liverpool supporters who through the Bottles.

With Van Dijk they have played 13 games and conceded only 11 goals. He has improved their defense a lot, and IMO it will be hard to score 3+ against them, but of course it's not impossible

They are not far away from being a really top team. They already have Naby Keita. A world class striker to complement Salah up front and they will take some stopping.

So, what you are saying is that the Liverpool supporters are just victims in all this?

Of course, they are accountable. Both the bus and Heysel crimes were committed in the name of Liverpool Football Club. Yes, the outcomes were different. And outcomes matter. But what if those Liverpool fans did manage to get a firework in the coach? And it caught fire? Liverpool Football club would be facing criminal charges. And rightly so.

And to blame Heysel on the stadium is fucking stupid. Why don't you go the whole way and say it was Chelsea fans or the National Front.

Your Liverpool Football Club revisionism is disgusting. You clearly are too young to have watched Liverpool fans killing 39 people on live television.

Sadly there are people who will not accept responsibility for their actions and Liverpool, the Merseyside police , and their supporters are just those types of people.

The club may not have instigated the trouble but did they positively discourage it beforehand ? No need to answer as it was rhetorical.

It perfectly suited the occasion to " ignore " the planned " welcome party " and for Klopp to denounce the actions once the damage had been done and the advantage gained .

I hope though deep down I know nothing will be done by UEFA, that Liverpool are severely censored and punished by being made to play either at a neutral venue or behind closed doors .

I know and mind the rocking horse shit !!!

Do one you scrote. Your lot have history of this shit and as soon as it gets media attention you try and down play it. You have no place in modern football - none. Your only saving grace is that UEFA will not have the balls to do what they should and ban you from Europe.

So you are saying KDB was wrong in what he said?
