We’re bombing Syria

Qatar is not a key ally of the US. Qatar is a tiny gas rich state with zero ability to project power in the region. I don’t know why you have these delusions of Qatar’s status. Look again at the response of Trump when the Saudis cut all ties.

I understand that it is difficult to accept the facts when you have been subjected to decades of propaganda glorifying US crimes. The United States is a grotesquely evil entity. It is responsible for more death and destruction in my lifetime than all other states combined.
I think you are knocking your head against a brick wall with these guys it's knuckle dragging ignorance.

I even forgot my personal favourite: the US threat to bomb Al Jazeera’s headquarters in Iraq if they didn’t stop broadcasting the aftermath of US attacks. This from a state that proclaims its moral superiority. But nevermind that, Assad is the monster...
Even if it were true, (which it isn't), how on earth do you compare that with the atrocities Assad has committed?

Bizarre.

While Qatar has a tiny military and as such are not a key ally in those terms, they are in a very strategic location ( for air, army and navy bases ) and are wanting the USA to ramp up there military bases in there country.

That alone makes Qatar a key “strategic” ally.

If you read my series of posts, you will have seen that I listed many proven human rights violations and war crimes committed by the United States and the United Kingdom. I never claimed Assad to be an angel. But these two states are the very last that should be levelling accusations.

Out of curiosity, for those that think this whole Syria war is some big conspiracy, do you think USA invaded Iraq, toppled saddam, and somehow created Isis, so they would create a caliphate spanning Iraq and Syria, all in the aim of toppling Assad?

Qatar is reliant on other states for their security. They are a tiny nation surrounded by far more powerful hostile states. Their options are extremely limited. You should recall that at one point they were struggling to bring enough food into the country because of the embargo, with Iran coming to their aid. I didn’t see the United States making any efforts to help out their supposed ally.

Let’s not make out that the US needs Qatar in order to maintain its regional hegemony. How many bases to they have in the region? Qatar is entirely dispensable as far as they are concerned.

That’s utter bullshit. At no point did Qatar come close to running out of food.

What they had to do was simply change their supplier.

KFC had larger issues in the last couple of months in the U.K. The KFC’s in Qatar never ran out of chicken.

Where do you read this shite you’re trying to present as ‘facts’?

Qatar is entirely dispensable as far as they are concerned.

If that were true then why did one of America’s most important politicians spend a week flying around the gulf for the express purpose of clipping Saudi’s wings?

Except you didn’t.

If you fail to accept those documented crimes then I cannot help you. Unfortunately you are far from alone in being brainwashed by decades of American propaganda.

It’s amazing how some people just shrug their shoulders when it is pointed out to them the millions of people that the United States have killed, forcibly displaced and made destitute.

On the two acts of nuclear terrorism, your response was that it was 70 years ago.

On the support for chemical attacks against Iranians, along with the direct use of chemical weapons in Vietnam, you dismissed because they occurred before the prohibition of chemical weapons.

You did not answer my assertions with regards to the use of depleated Uranium shells along with white phosphorus, support for the Saudi genocide in Yemen, the Beirut bombing or the coup that overthrew Iran’s democratically elected president.

There is one big airbase on Qatar which is being significantly bolstered, while if that one base disappeared the us would still be fine in the region The very fact that Qatar is where it is and actually wants the US to increase there forces makes them a key ally in the region. Especially if it does kick off with Iran.

No doubt they want to increase that as they are dependent on the USA for defence tho.

And that effects geographical strategic significance now?

Do you think any USA bases would be reliant on local produce?

The person to whom I was responding flat out denied what is printed clearly in the article referenced.

My point was that if Qatar were some extremely important ally, then why not come to their immediate aid? Why not make clear in the media that it opposes the actions of the Saudis and their puppet states? You can’t tell me that the US wouldn’t do so if it were Israel.

So this is where you avoid the fact they did via Rex Tillerson. I’ve only mentioned him four times so I can understand why you may have missed the point.
