Breaking records/stats thread

So if we win our last 5 games, we'll have had the joint best league season in history across the 5 top leagues.
And Pep still might not win the Manager of the Year award. Let that sink in.

So just to summarise -

Most points in a premier league season - 95 Chelsea 2005/05

Most points in an English top flight season adjusted for 3 points - 98 Liverpool 1978/79

Most wins in an English top flight season - 31 Spurs 1960/61

Most points in a La Liga season - 100 Barca 12/13 & Real Madrid 11/12

Most points in a Serie A season - 102 Juventus 13/14.

Most points in a bundesliga seasons (adjusted for 38 games) - 91 (101) Bayern Munich 12/13.

So if we win our last 5 games, we'll have had the joint best league season in history across the 5 top leagues.

Updated for Most wins (31) by Spurs. 1 more than Liverpool in 1978/79. Liverpool drew 4 more games than Spurs though.

Win our next two games and we'll go into the Huddersfield game (the day we lift the PL trophy) needing 3 points to secure the greatest top flight points total in English football history.

Anyone else recall Harry Dowd scoring against Bury after going off with a hand or arm injury and coming back as an outfield player with his arm in a sling? I think that match also saw Colin Bell's first goal at Maine Road (for Bury!).

I was at that match .... no subs in those days .... think you are right about Colin Bell too.

Can't do that till Southampton. Sorry.
We have to win 4 games on the trot to get to that too.

We can afford to draw one game, although I reckon the team is really up for this once in a lifetime opportunity and I can’t see anything past 5 pretty straight forward wins.
Centurions.
Legends forever.

If City ever do straightforward I'll laugh extremely loudly.

David Silva has been directly involved in 20+ goals in a Premier League season for the first time since 2011-12 (21)

Raheem Sterling has scored 18 goals in the Premier League this season; twice as many as he did in his previous best campaign (9 for Liverpool in 2013/14)

NEW RECORD: 582 passes in first 45min is a new Premier League record by Manchester City.
