Raheem Sterling - 2017/18 performances

I missed the pen due to the sodding stream playing up so will have to wait for motd2....Sterling is quality but he never gets the rub if the green with these situations

Any chance we could grab the stats on the chances Raheem has had this season (goal scoring chances)....if he can continue to focus on his finishing he will imo be able to achieve 30+ a season
 
18 goals and 11 assists in 27 starts and four sub appearances. 18+17 if you count the way FPL does. What's funny is that some earlier criticized his general play and said he couldn't develop it as well as his finishing. His numbers output is world class and I feel his general play (movement, decision making, passing, dribbling, work rate) is also world class right now. If his movement wasn't so good that he could miss a clear cut chance every game I'm sure the majority of our supporters would call him world class. Still only 23 years old...
 
Superb again today. The highest praise I can give him is that over the course of this season he's been one of the few players in the side where if they're out of the lineup it's noticeable that we miss him. If he can improve further next season and become even an above average finisher, which he can, he'll be one of best wingers in world football, no question.

Not quite eorkd class but very close to it. Fantastic yet again today

You had me until you crossed into hyperbole, especially in the area of decision-making, which he himself admits needs work.

At 21, 22 and 23, Jesus, Sané and Sterling make Pep’s version of attacking football baked in to the team for a generation. What is scary to me is that as well as Raheem has done this season, I think he is the least naturally talented of the three!! Amazing future front line!!

Don't hedge. Join the party. Been saying it from say 1, Raheem Sterling is World Class!

Some are still waiting for him to do this or do that to become what he already is :)

He has some flaws that are stopping him from being Messi unplayable. But he is already world class.


The numbers aren't lying... He is now what Sanchez has been the last 3 years... A flawed World Class superstar.

City fans need to start treating him like one.
It's Kev, David and Raheem. That is the current City triumvirate.

And he probably just nicked best player this year from Kev. He has been that good.

According to the Premier League official stats, Raheem has had 12 Big Chances Missed. So, add that to his goals and assist, he could have created 41 goals this season... just in the Premier League.

Thanks. Those numbers would elevate him into the best player in the world category.....come on Raheem you can do it lad and prove all the doubters wrong

Hadn't seen that list before. Aguero (13), Jesus (13), and Sterling (12), so 38 'Big Chances', whatever that means, missed.

Salah leads that list with 21 and Benteke next on 20.
 
His general play has improved hugely. Becoming almost abnormally intelligent for the style of player he is & age

Execution of normal chances (whether a shot or final pass) obviously still needs work (alot of it in terms of goals) but if he can do that by, say, 50% even, he'll become one of the very best players in the world.
 
His peak years are still a long way off IMO. We'll see Sterling's best around the 2025/26 season when he's losing some of his pace and becomes a Ribery-esque powerhouse who just outclasses everyone. We have another decade of Sterling to come and he's going to leave us as a club legend.
 
Missed numerous chances again yesterday, the second he gets composure in front of goal he will be terrifying. His assist for Jesus yesterday was brilliant.
