Matthijs de Ligt

Vinny's fitness cannot be relied on sadly. Therefore it's smart to assume he won't stay fit and buy accordingly, especially if we want the option of 3 at the back.

Yeah, you would think that might be a stumbling block given his relationship with Guardiola.

But agents are greedy fuckers and getting their slice will surely come before their " personal " issues with a manager.

Yeah, I don't think Raiola would let any personal issues come between him and his love of money. Just wonder whether Guardiola would want Raiola having any presence/involvement at the club.

Yes I get that Ric, so it will be interesting to see what develops with this one.

He’d be worth a bid if we hadn’t signed Laporte. To have 5 centre halfs with 3 of them under 25, despite having a lot of game time for their age, would be counterproductive IMO. An experienced “veteran” with composure would be better suited. De Ligt could become that player but we already have two unfinished articles we should be working on instead.

Forgive me if I’m wrong but if there is anything half decent coming from the Tele, isn’t it usually Ducker who reports it? I’ve never heard of this journo.

Wallace is a regular hack; Ducker is the knife man. If there's no obvious negative slant Ducker, the Telegraph's Northern Rag Hack, has his gaze elsewhere!

I can't see us having much dealing with Raiola in general not just because of his issues with Pep. His Clients tend to get itchy feet quite quickly.

Apologies for going back to first principles, but it's he any good, and how far off a first team place is he?

It's hard to say based on playing in Holland but I don't think hed look out of place playing immediately.

I don't know how Pep is plan I g on rotating 5 CBs and keeping them all happy though.

Raiola isn't actually his agent though. It's Barry Hulshoff Raiola is since recently a advisor for De Light and Barry

Aye I think thats the key here, he has a dutch agent for dealing with the day to day, but is using Raiola and his undeniable expertise to get a big move. So in all likelihood we wouldn't have to deal with Mino in the long term, and he's happy because he'll get some of the signing on fee or however the kick backs work.

Can imagine that being quite attractive to a player, using a super agent as a consultant almost but not having to deal with someone who has hundreds of clients for the more mundane requests.

For all the people on they fence about forward planning, Spanish papers are saying Barca want Frenkie De Jong to stay at Ajax next season and sign him in 2019. Which is smart because he had a serious injury cut his season short. They also used a similar method to sign Yerry Mina. You get agreements in place to sign them at a specific date and you don’t have to worry later.
