On the Sky "Centurion" show, I noted another PL record - First team to score 100 goals in a Calander Year (2017)

I was going to ask if the points differential between the top and bottom teams (69) was a record. But I'm remembering Derby only amassing 11 points in one season. And I'd imagine whoever won the title that year ended up with over 80 points.

Thanks ag. As I hinted at in my post, I had my doubts that our gap was a record, given Derby's ridiculously low points total. I just checked that season (2007-08) and the vermin finished on 87 points, 76 points ahead of Derby.

Presumably we were some way off that one.

Barca hold the European record with 158, we were close to that in Pellegrini's title winning season IIRC, 2 or 3 goals adrift.

156 set by City in the 2013-14 season under Pellegrini.

I thought we’d get a match scoring record this season, (or indeed in most season since 2012 to be honest!) but maybe with the overall lifting of the quality of the PL in the past 5-10 or so years, it’s unlikely to happen.

Would potentially need a couple of early sendings off, or a downing of tools (eg us against Middlesbrough )... hmm I gather there’s some friction in a dressing room not too far away...that would be nice.

Biggest home win: 9-0, Manchester United vs Ipswich Town (4 March 1995)

Biggest away win: 1-8, Nottingham Forest vs Manchester United (6 February 1999)

There is no doubt in my mind that we could have beaten someone 10-0 at the Etihad last season if we really wanted to.
