The Boxing thread

Seems to me you need to get a girlfriend, very sad.

Well that is me put in my place by a well thought out reasoned response as to why you think a useless fat **** will beat up, well actually what I replied to was "Oh he will, the pair of them will be shitting themself by the time he fights them."

Yup okay, they will be shitting themselves when a fat useless **** trundles towards them, that is if he even makes a step forward to throw a punch.

Fury fights on the back foot he will never have the power to beat AJ by knock out so will rely on points, AJ is an athlete so the longer the fight went AJ becomes an even bigger favourite, If Fury and AJ fought 100 times Fury would be lucky to win one and if he did that would be either by injury to AJ or a technical decision he could never win on points or by KO

Fury had his day when he bored his way to that win over Klitchko, and if the Klitchko who fought AJ had turned up in that fight with Fury, Klitchko would have still been champion when he fought AJ

I’ve nothing against Fury he makes me laugh sometimes but he’s no great and never will be

Similar to what I see too, although I give him more of a chance of a points win against AJ. I could see it happening but I don't think it will. Against Wilder I think in shape(still looks some way off) he might be the favourite with the right gameplan, he could frustrate him and make it a tough night for him.

One thing people often forget is just how big a unit he is, yet his handspeed, headmovement and footwork are surprisingly good(footwork less so but he's very mobile compared to most if a little clumsy with it) by heavyweight standards, so he's never going to be easy to beat especially if he respects his opponents power. I think his fans severely overrate his abilities though, the assertion that he completely outboxed Wlad is at odds with what actually happened, it was a good gameplan that worked don't get me wrong but it wasn't some beautiful masterclass... he made it awkward, upset Wlad's rhythm and made it difficult for him to get his punches going but the boxing on show wasn't great, nor was it a spectacle. If those tactics were translated into football terms, where you spoil your opponents game in order to win without a care for the football on show or what your fans really want to see then it would be Mourinho football.

He is entertaining out of the ring but the level of hypocrisy from the Fury's and BJS by association often grates on me. Lets not forget soon after his big night against Klitschko he failed a drug test for full blown steroids and blamed it on contaminated meat(offal). I understand why the calibre of opponent this weekend was selected but just imagine any other top heavyweight doing the same no matter if they had a layoff or not and you already know the kind of digs he'd be getting in. If he was in the position to do so I'd also imagine he'd make comments about his poor shape compared to most and how fast he lost the amount of weight he did might be suspect too perhaps. Most fighters would probably get a pass for most of this but most of those don't have the mouth Fury does do they?

Felt sorry for Turbo with the head clashes, second one was nasty but both accidental. Fitness wise looked ok moving up, no doubt he'll be back. Fury fight was always going too be a circus, let's see how he looks after a few more fights.
Crawford was brilliant against Horn, would love to see Bud in with Spence at some point, that would be a great fight.

Why are you bleating on about racism when he calls himself a gypsy???? You're very easily offended.
He is a gypsy. The writer called him a Pikey.

Gypsy and Romany travellers are a recognised ethnic group. The poster used a well known term for insulting that ethnic group. I confine that stuff to the dark ages. It seems like you do not .

I believe in calling out racism as I find it unacceptable. Making one mention of that is not bleating as you put it. Those who turn a blind are are equally culpable in my eyes

I hope you don't tar us all with the same brush ?

If the gypsy himself is happy for everyone to call him that, and he is happy to call himself that, why do you need to be involved? There's always someone taking offence on behalf of someone else. I think he is big enough to fight his own battles and people should really get a life.

I think sometimes people blur the lines between Tyson Fury the person and Tyson Fury the boxer. Outside the ring hes a total wanker with some abhorrent opinions, but inside it hes absolutely ridiculous. Ive seen people in here call him a plodder, ffs hes 6foot9 and dances round the ring better than some middleweights who are you getting him mixed up with?

For the record I think the Fury who beat Klitschko boxes Joshuas head off, but Joshua has garnered a fanbase who are absolutely outraged everytime someone suggests their man isnt the best heavyweight the planets ever seen. I like both (as boxers) and think it would be a great fight because whilst Fury would outbox him, Joshua would always have that equalising power if Tyson gets lazy with his defence.

Good post sir, I completely agree

Or alternatively they are not blurring any lines and think he is a wanker out of the ring and a shit boxer as well.

He dances round the ring just lovely but he hardly used that speed and finesse to land a decent punch, he is a horrible boxer in an era of crap heavyweights.

And yet when smaller boxers do it, it gets lauded as the sweet science.
