Sterling’s contract - three year extension confirmed

You presumed it was Toure despite the reports of him signing his one year deal on reduced terms, ok.

Still might have been the highest paid, even on reduced terms, you are fucking brilliant at coming out with lines to shoot me down, but nothing constructive comes back my way from you ? Strange

Yeah. We won't pay what he wants but arsenal will? You understand how what you're saying sounds ridiculous. If he was to leave, t would be to a team that could afford him and was at least equal in stature to us. Otherwise why bother?
What I am saying is the teams that could afford him would have no interest in him. He isn't at that level and I doubt he ever will be

No wonder the papers feel comfortable sticking the knife into the lad, easy done when plenty on here are willing to do it at the drop of a hat, fucking call yourself fans lol

All entitled to views and opinions, the contract negotiations were going on ages ago apparently, suddenly Sky decide to run it,as they will have fuck all else to do whilst the WC is on,but today is the first time I've heard the line of poles apart,so begs the question what does that mean ? Holding City to ransom ?

As said this afternoon by many,he is not irreplacable, but there a few who think he is,that's the pathetic part
I just find it very disappointing that people use a throw away story by sky to just slag a player who was instrumental in our success last year.
I haven’t for one second suggested he is irreplaceable, but for people to be slagging him off is just out of order.

Why is it so ludicrous? Is Kev the better player? Yes. But last season, I would put Kevin, raheem and Silva on a par in terms of importance.

I wouldn't give him parity, but it isn't completely ludicrous.
You really are a thoroughly irritating poster.

All you do is “attack” posters and posts that don’t agree with your point of view as if we’re idiots for daring to have our own view.

Once in a while you should just appreciate that we aren’t always right all of the time.

If he shines at the World Cup, doesn’t sign a new contract and a team comes in with a huge offer, it may be in our best interests to cash in this summer.

Of course it’s relevent when as soon as sky sports report something people come on here to slag him off, call him shit etc. We have hundreds of pages on media persecution of sterling, media agenda thread, yet people on here are just as fucking bad. Pathetic it really is.
totally agree, city started these talks with 2 years left on his contract a clear indication that they want to tie down all their best players on long term deals, the player wants the best deal he can get especially after having a great season, the player will get close to what he wants not because he threatens to leave but because city want him to stay and sky can take their` poles and shove em `and city fans on this page should give their heads a wobble for being led down the garden path by a sterling hating sky

Put it this way (I am talking to you lot who kiss your Sterling posters bed) if he is flirting with other clubs then do not expect him to be about. Look at peps stance with Sanchez. No world class club would buy him and pay him what he wants so if he is happy making a backwards move to Arsenal then more fool him. He could take a shit on the centre circle after scoring an own goal and some here would leap to his defence.

If wanting to agree terms after the world cup is a negotiation strategy, it's not a very good one.
Unfortunately for Sterling, he's not old enough to have 'enjoyed' enough World Cups to know that we will fail dismally, again, and not one of our player's value will increase.
City are being the shrewd ones...

ps. I hope I'm wrong.....I'm not though.

I've handed over the baton to another safe pair of hands, keep up your efforts :)

If you think he would be going to Arsenal, you have been reading the Daily Mirror (again). Or believing Sky.

It’s embarrassing. Talksport and Sky Sports (both Sterling haters recently) trying to cause issues and make out he’s a money grabber and one silly article causes many so called City fans to go mental and slate him. Exactly what the media want. Let the Witch hunt continue. God help the lad. He has no chance. I'd move abroad if I was him.

The guy just played a key role in a record breaking season. Means nothing to some blues. I’d love him to stay but if he decides to move on all the best, thanks for the 4/5 years’ service and trophies he helped win.

Until I see a City player on video saying the words that they are supposed to have said as reported in 'the press' I'm always sceptical as to whether it's true or not.
We're here to be attacked chaps. We should back our boys (especially those who are responsible for about 12 of our points in the last season !)

or he could score 23 goals and have 17 assists and just want parity with other city players and some on here would go out and support sky`s bullshit, as for arsenal who is on this wage there, and how are they going to buy him

Ooh that's a bit personal. Not sure where I 'attacked' anyone. In fact, that's what you just did.

Not interested in a pissing contest

I think I'm going to give Sterling the benefit of the doubt on this one, rather than take as gospel the words of a TV station who less than a fortnight ago deliberately fabricated a quote to besmirch the player.

He's a hugely important player for us, and seems to enjoy being at City and playing under Guardiola. I'm sure a new deal will be sorted after the World Cup.

Your right. Sterling's best form is for City and his stock is the highest it's been. He's not scored for England in 18 games or something like that, and with Southgate's dire tactics, he probably won't be scoring any time soon. If he plays less games next season if we sign Mahrez, his stock will decrease and we will likely save ourselves a lot in wages.
