So where was good old VAR then when Serbia should have had a clear pen ? For the odd correction it gets right ( still debatable e.g. I thought Neymar was fouled even though he did make a meal of it ) it makes three times as many mistakes for both penalties given and not given. It's a subjective based system that can never ever work !

I really don’t blame him and players that dive. The ones to blame are the governing bodies who don’t punish them enough.
Neymar and most players wouldn’t dive if punishment was a 5 match ban.

Yes. But the existing system never works either - with or without VAR the ref saw that and didn’t give a penalty , you would be happy with that ?
At least VAR will improve in time and get majority of decisions correct. We know for a fact a ref and assistants on their own don’t.

There will be times when decisions haven’t or have been given, but there won’t be any offside goals or blatant diving anymore. How can you argue against a system that allows video referees monitor the game instead of relying on three officials at the stadium?

not at all because it was a bullshit arguement in the first place. There's actually more stoppage without VAR due to the players arguing

Wrong. Some people want it to be better than it is. Because at the moment it's not good enough.
