It’s a cup competition. With the right mindset, any team can win it. We have got some decent players, just not as good as several other teams. To many of the big teams are hit and miss, I fancy England against anyone. I’m normally a big critic towards England, but I think Southgates got us going down the right track.

I'm sure the vast majority don't believe we have the ability to win it but there is nothing wrong with optimism and hope,and to be truthful,if we play our best football and get some luck along the way,ive seen nothing we should fear from any other team.

Moments like this are rare for English football,i don't blame anyone for getting excited.

This is the crux of it for me. This England team won't win the World Cup but they're giving people something to cheer about for the first time in a long time. So just enjoy it for what it is.

They probably won’t win it but they have as much of a chance as anyone judging by what we’ve seen so far. We’re sixth favourites with the bookies which is probably right.

This is why sport is so good, who’d have thought Leicester could win the PL? Or Greece winning the Euros in 2004? Chelsea were awful in the 2011/2012 season and came 6th but went on to win the CL when no one gave them a chance.

The likelihood is another team will win it due to there being better sides out there and it’s a 32 team tournament but England could do it and if we’re not allowed to get excited when we’ve had such a good start then what’s the point of being a fan?

Except both us and Belgium don’t need to win so we’ll have to wait to the knockout stage to get a better idea when there’s more at stake.

True mate, I would love the idea England could win the world cup, but don't understand everyone getting carried away, we have beat probably 2 of the worst teams in the tournament
 
Let's be honest, if any of Brazil, Germany, Argentina etc had started like we have there'd be bookies paying out on them already, calls for us to adopt their styles/philosophies.
No we haven't played anyone decent yet but we've struggled to despatch packed defences previously. Let alone stick 6 past them.
Let's enjoy it while we can.

We won't win it. But that was the first England game I've enjoyed for years. And some of the more fancied teams have struggled to beat weak opposition, never mind score six.

It is what it is, so just savour the moment.
 
Penalties with Germany in the QFs is highly likely.
Southgate to get another Pizza Hut advert out of it...
