Media persecution of Raheem Sterling

I had exactly the same with a bunch of non City fan mates on a WhatsApp group.
Half time comes around and it's 'Taxi for Sterling' type of crap.
I tried to explain but like you I just gave up and nominated Jamie Vardy as MoTM
I was chatting with a manager at work who previously bought in to the media and social crap but I've been turning him around for awhile and the TV coverage at the end of today's game was the final nail in the coffin. He's now fully converted to a Sterling fan. It's extraordinary how the media seem to have switched stories in the middle of the competition though.

I have no fondness for England as it not city is it but I now want them to get to the final and win 1-0 against whoever with Sterling scoring the only goal.
They'd have to knight him them and he'll always be remembered as the guy that won the world cup for England. Now I could buy into this very easily.

Also he had a bloody great game today

It’s a difficult one when no single post (as a rule) is a ban in and of itself. But that fella has been a broken record for a long long time.
I agree, but feeding the lad and then arguing with him is exactly what he wants.By bringing stuff to our attention it helps prevent such and builds up a dossier,so to speak.Snide comments definitely don't help.Cheers pal.

Always hated Ratboy as a player, but as a pundit even though his bias sometimes slips through he's usually pretty good.
Thought what he said about Raz and the abuse he receives/received on social media was spot on...Neville has gone up in my estimation ...
Raz was very good today but he's in need of a goal... probably get the winner on Wednesday and still get the lowest marks of the morons.
Wonderful to see,and as the post above, having one of their heroes go against the grain and defend Sterling, will blow their tiny, clueless, minds! :-)

i know I am a very bitter individual but it would actually make me quite happy if Rashford gets the nod over Raheem for the semi and England get fucking battered.
They would still put the blame on sterling, even if England win the bloody thing the booing at grounds of sterling will only intensify in my opinion, even if he scored the winner ...

What is interesting is that (apart from the expected quality of the article itself) the top rated comments there are supportive and intelligent assesments of his strengths (and weaknesses)
Which shows there's plenty of knowledgeable people among the genuine fan base.
Stuff like BBC ratings reflect the idiots and armchairs who unfortunately would be the majority

He has to at least pass it to Kane on his 1v1 but he played well today, he's the one bit of explosiveness in this team

Anyone who called for him to come off today or be dropped for the SF, well you know they don't understand football one bit.

On a more general note, tho they created it, it's clearly not just a media thing.
The pass wasn't there. You could see him look for it but it just wasn't there.

Pretty poor to hear him booed when the team sheet was read out and cheered when he went off at the pub I was in. Town infested with rags and Mickey’s though so may just be that.
