Gareth Southgate

He got schooled a bit which was always the worry. I hope it’s not a false dawn with him as there is so much to like.
What a sack of utter shit. The worry was we wouldn’t get out of the group. He took a team every one had zero expectations of and took them very close to the final. Hats off to him and the future looks bright for England.

Deserves credit but felt that he was shithouse for regularly hooking Sterling, rather than others, as he knew he wouldn't get stick for it.
Bang on the money. Took the path of least resistance by taking sterling off. We certainly looked worse after that. Also, who instructed rashford to take that last free kick after his equally ineffective floated one slightly earlier.

Very very poor tonight. Midfield was anonymous and his solution was swapping the dangerous Sterling for the bang average Rashford. Made absolutely no sense whatsoever when he needed to get some legs and energy into the midfield. Suppose he got a decent run from a decent group of players though so about what you would expect.

Not convinced they were fat Sam tactics as much as the midfield just didn’t have the quality to retain the ball and even less quality setting up chances for the forward players

He shat himself. He tried twice to defend a slender lead and twice it bit him on the arse. Kept players like Lingard and Alli on far too long instead of making changes in midfield. A brave manager would have seen Kane was offering nothing and hooked him off instead of keeping him on incase he needed to take a penalty. And taking Sterling off for Rashford was a ridiculous decision.
