Putting out a briefing is not a mistake,if the info turns out to be false then you look a bit stupid thats all,jeez you are deterined to rubbish the club,you turn up every summer so why pretend you don't know how complex transfers are,sometimes it's not someones fault,it's a business deal that may or may not come offIt's our responsibility for what we do with that info....or you saying an agent or potentially someone else outside the club is responsible for our club briefs?

From all my 30 plus years working in and around the media, City shouldn't be taking their word for it, regardless of whether they believe they are bring told the truth or not.
Hence, City had no need to expose themselves to the possibility of them being lied to.
