Watching Maguire at the Etihad last season they are more than welcome to him. At the WC I thought Stones covered his ass on many occasions. In a back 3 the central player has the most difficult job as he has to cover the other 2. If it had been reversed and Maguire was in that position I would guess he wouldn't have looked half as good.

You spend on a defender what we spend on a striker = spending £65mil on England's 2nd best CB.
We've never spent £65m on a striker. Aguero was £38m and is our record fee for a striker.

If this happens then the rags have spent higher record fees on defenders, useless lumps midfielders and strikers than us and the dippers have done it on keepers and defenders as well as matching our record for a striker.

Maguire is vastly overrated due to a WC showing where he was rarely tested beyond his comfort zone and,as has been stated, was often covered by the far superior Stones.

Another steady and decent, but limited, player who they will pay a fortune for. They are welcome to him.

I sincerely hope Leicester absolutely bum the scum on the fee, they have no reason to let him go easily. Could be funny watching it unfold.

I know, I'm pointing our Mourinho's hypocrisy about Walker/Mendy and then bidding £65mil on Maguire.
