New Kits 2018/19

One of my boys wanted the GK top for his Birthday £65 with the discount (only 9)

a rip off

Kids want new kits every year and clubs know this and play on it.

Been on different sites and ordered kits but kids notice little details and want official rip off kits.

Be our kit at the swamp then if that's the case.

Don’t have to change socks or shorts in the PL anymore.

Some clubs still do to promote the sale of the other gear though, hence the rags always wearing the black shorts at ours.

The women however change their socks and shorts now and again. Was preferred when they wore white shorts a couple of times when we had a blue shorts kit!

Looking at this years kits - it’s not just the ridiculous prices but they look utter tat from a quality perspective. No way I’d pay £65 quid for one of those.

Teams absolutely do have to change shorts and socks if they clash. Arsenal wore red shorts for the first time in about 35 years at West Brom last season because of the clash of white shorts.

Not strictly so, the away team has to give notice of the colours they're going to use a couple of weeks before and it is then approved or they are asked to modify it, if for example the referee believes it will clash.

It was felt that there was too much white on show if Arsenal were to wear their usual home kit.

It’s the judgment of the entire kit which comes into consideration now rather than just shorts and socks.

We went through a number of seasons where we had to wear blue or navy shorts at Old Trafford. We just wear our usual kit now the rules have been loosened. Although having said that, I wouldn’t be surprised if we made the decision to wear white socks at Old Trafford this season.

Short version - There were a number of seasons where if the shorts clashed you had to change them. Now it’s a judgement made based on the whole kit. Club’s can also take the decision themselves as long as it isn’t making a further clash, hence Utd wear black shorts at away derby games.

Pity it's not kosher; we're supposed to be going down the orange route again (apologies to @Magicpole).

that is truly a beautiful shirt!!! FFS why can`t we have something like that?!?!
Or just make the Champins shirt our third shirt.

They already created the production setup, so it would tick their boxes of new, cheap to produce, and easy to sell.

Clubs only play on it because they know people are daft enough to buy them. My lad has always known the kits I've bought for him aren't "official" but he's happily clad, every season, in all 3 kits that have cost his dad less than what you paid for one goalkeeping top.
I didn't get everything I wanted when I was 9. It's a lesson all kids should learn.

Your right and he doesn't get all what he wants

he had a choice either GK top or he could have had 4 different unofficial kits.

couldn't find unofficial GK kit though.

Fair enough, the goalie kit isn't one I've been able to get through "unofficial" sites in kids' sizes. Hence my lad wearing a small adult - it fucking dwarfs him!!

Haha good thread that. Not sure Nike would go as wild to have a "map" on the shirt as like that pic a few pages back. It could just be a nod to each City in some way.
Obviously, with a large trash heap somewhere around Stretford (to provide a high contrast area for their ETIHAD AIRWAYS sponsor printing, will be the Nike design explanation).
