I agree with him not saying anything if we didn’t have a name and a bid being readied. If Zinchenko didn’t go it means he didn’t want to be risked in case we have to transfer him out. But Pep has said someone special as I think ndombele is good I don’t think he’s at that level pep is seeking right now

Don't think 'special' necessarily means world class. Could be a young talent that has great potential

Weigl is a defensive midfielder, he would be Fern cover. We wanted Jorginho to rotate with Fern and they are very dissimilar players - Weigl's much more like the former.

He definitely is, but he's average at best. Good passer, but he's slow, doesn't win headers, can't defend, can't shoot and is injury prone. Saw Dortmund a couple times last season and even though he was recovering from a bad injury he looked pretty bad. Wasn't very good before his injury either

Or Weigl goes to PSG and we sign Verratti. Weigl has been linked there a lot, and his former manager is now the PSG manager

I assumed that Pep would know all about him from his time at Bayern , but thanks for the info.

cheers mate....Might be wrong but havent there been reports in the past that Pep was high on Weigl? Still young and best years ahead....If Weigl doesnt end up at PSG with his old coach, I could see alot of upside to this signing...

Agree mate.....his old coach might have been tapping him up all summer..Verratti would be my No1 option but Weigl could be a nice plan B...
