Not convinced by him at all tbf, might sound mad but I think those CL wins were a fluke caused by a manager letting a seriously talented squad do what they wanted and getting lucky. Time will tell tbf.
Nah, I'd say exactly the opposite to be honest. One of the first things he did when he came in was to tighten up the defence and reign them in a bit. The CL final against Liverpool showed his adaptability, with him basically using the first 30 minutes to soak up the pressure and give them no space, and then gradually start to control the game. In fact, I think that's one of the reasons he was so successful in a cup competition, because he's able to adapt to the opponents. Arguably, his lack of any clear playing identity in the same way that Pep has is the reason why he's less successful in the league, where most of the time, playing your own game well against teams below you will get you results.

Wolves, with Mendes, is my guess. A totally free hand. Tons of cash to splash about, and absolutely no pressure of expectation whatsoever.

If Wolves stay up, which should be every promoted side's one and only objective, would they sack their current manager and replace him with that eye-gouging twat?

Did you see how well he adapted against Napoli, Wolfsburg, Spurs etc?

It seems crazy to suggest that winning the CL three out of four seasons is mostly down to luck, but I tend to agree. Perhaps he should get some credit for not getting in the way.

No. His high stature in the game can only be an asset to them. He might even bring the best out of Pogba and Martial.
Look at their league form last year. He's a good manager but I don't think this job will be the right one at the right time for him

I'm not so much as sure that they were flukes, more that he had a sqaud full of world class players who were leaders.

He's not had to build a sqaud yet and this united sqaud is nearing a point where they're largely going to need to rebuild.
Not saying he'd be as bad as Mourinho but I think it might take him a while to get his perfect sqaud and get then playing the way he wants.

Madrid were almost impossibly bad in la Liga last year. 76 points is just inexcusable. Zidane is probably a mediocre manager, but at a team with huge resources he'll probably be pretty successful. His repuatation will draw great players, which is 80% of the battle anyway.

The knives will be out for peg if they lose against Spurs.

He’ll probably fluke a win against Spuds. They always seem to capitulate at OT, as do the Dippers. But it will merely postpone the inevitable, I think. Whatever the Rags’ Board might say in public about giving him their full backing, in reality it seems the players don’t want to play for ‘our Peg’. Gone by Christmas is my bet.
