Leroy Sane - 2018/2019 performances

Exactky how I see it too. Kroos knows what he’s doing here. Maybe the quiet word has failed? Maybe Sane’s omission in the summer was because of his attitude? Maybe the senior players have had no choice now but to do this publicly, but for the sake of Sane rather than just being gobshites.
In the meantime once more the BBC delight in posting negative lead stories about City players. 'Sterling pulls out of England'/'Sane must improve attitude' have been the main stories hogging the BBC headlines and thereby negatively influencing the public mindset. Sane was deserved 'Young player of the season' and must not rest on his laurels but Kroos, like Pep has done, should keep it in the locker room.
Just hope Gundogan doesn't get the shit left from Ozil's departure from DFB.

The public probably don’t care what the bbc say. If they do? Who cares from our point of view? Why you’ve brought that into it though I’m unsure. Sterling has pulled out. It’s not a negative story, he’s pulled out. And if you think the bbc or any outlet won’t pick up on the Sane ‘story’, you’re naive. He won’t be the first player to be reported on like this, and he won’t be the last.

Many media outlets have taken Kroos' horrible backstabbing interview, & actually used their own words in the headline rather than his, in order to defame Sane further, presumably because Kroos wasn't specific enough, so they decided to add to it rather than just report it.

We can probably expect the 'lifestyle' pieces to follow.

Backstabbing? As said earlier, maybe the quiet approach hasn’t worked. Have you ever thought Sane might just be a jumped up, arrogant prick and players are fed up of it? Not everything is an attack. Kroos is a class act, and I see this as him having to resort to doing this to get inside the kids head. Nothing more.

Kroos is an absolute ****.

He has just proved it.

This is the opposite of 'class'.

If Sane liked to shag ducks at the team meetings, it's not Kroos place to talk about it to the media.

But of course Germany were fucking shite at the World Cup, & the manager of course left out Leroy Sane. So who is to blame for Germany being shite ? Not Kroos & his team, not the manager, but Leroy Sane, who is a fantastic player & would have been there helping them win it, if it wasn't for his shit, uncaring, attitude, so he has let them down.

Stick him over there with the Turks.

It is his place if he thinks it’s the only way to get the message into the kid that he needs to buck the fuck up.

No it isn't.

It's none of his fucking business.

And how does he know it will work & not make Sane's 'attitude' worse ?

Well let's think, oh yes, he doesn't fucking care, as Sane plays for one of his main rivals in the Champions League.

How have you managed to complain about newspapers making stuff up in one post, and then created this work of fiction in the next?

At the end of the day, Kroos is not an outspoken player, and he's someone who konws Sané far better than anyone on this forum.

Attacking him for saying something which could be perfectly legitimate seems pretty stupid. All we know is Low decided he didn't want him at the world cup, Pep's felt the need to send him a message, and now one of his national teammates has basically said he understands why.

It probably is Kroos trying indirectly to give him a boot up the arse, but gone about it so wrong.

Sane can hardly be used as a scapegoat with what happened in Russia as he wasn't even there,so that is were Kroos is out of line, but they obviously still smarting from that.

If I was Sane I'd tell him and Low both to fuck off,but he won't

Because it isn't true.

Sane was voted best young player in the Premier League last season, then left out of a completely disfunctional German team who clearly have issues.

He has been invited back & suddenly it's him who is the controversial figure, rather than them.

Again you've made that up.

Kroos didn't say Leroy was a controversial figure, he said he understands why Low and Guardiola might have felt the need to drop him.

There has been non stop discourse about Germany's world cup failure, Low even went on TV and presented his reasons for why it went wrong, and Leroy Sané was not anywhere near the discussion, except part of the debate revolving around Low showing too much faith to older players.

You've completely gone off the deep end here. Experienced player says - when asked about the topic specifically - he could understand the actions of Sané's club and national team managers and you've gone into nutjob conspiracy mode claiming he's being sacrificed to distract from their world cup.

To say he seems as if he doesn't care, whether they win or lose, is pretty fucking controversial, insulting & uneccessary. And what is it based on ? His lack of workrate ? His lack of end product ? His lack of fortitude ?

No, it's his fucking 'body language'.

If it was Rio Ferdinand making the same comments about a City player, when he was in the England team, he wouds be fuicking hung for it.

This bloke is a rival, of City.

It's probably based on Kroos knowing Sané and having lived, trained & played with him as a teammate in Germany squads for 4 years?

How many years do you have to live & work with someone before NevilleKneville allows you to claim knowledge of someone's personality or attitude on the football pitch?

And I doubt Toni Kroos even spares City a second thought until we get to the 1/4 final draw of the Champions League. As nice as it would be to think 4x Champions League winners would obsess over us on a daily basis and feel the need to attempt to sabotage us about 7 months before possibly meeting us, that's drifting into tinfoil RAWK-like conspiriacy territory.

It's not alright, for an experienced player & member of a rival team, to criticise the mentality of one of our players, in public.

If a Utd player did the same, you would not accept it.

It leaves Sane now, with two options: be brilliant for Germany immediately, under media pressure to perform, or be an 'I told you so' immediately.

Any pressure Kroos was under, at the World Cup, he lost the fucking ball, or played a backward hospital pass.

Utter ****, who will be cheering if Sane is linked with a move to Real Madrid.

If he’s linked with, and moved to Madrid, surely Kroos hasn’t thought it through properly if indeed your theory of destabilising rivals is correct?

Need to get his head right and back playing. Of all our current players Sane has the highest ceiling in my view, get you up off your seat talent. If he was focussed he could be the best in the world in 3 years, no doubt

The problem with your "If a United player..." hypothetical is that Toni Kroos isn't someone who plays for our local rivals and might feel the need to get involved in fan rivalries.

KDB has spoken about needing to take Sané off to a corner and talk him down because he got stroppy at a managerial decision. We've seen the video of Pep stop a crucial team talk at halftime to tell Sané to stop being moody, then in preseason after Liverpool Pep said he " he needs to regain his principles in terms of playing without the ball" if he wants to start. He's been dropped by his national team manager and his club manager, and now a senior teammate in the German squad has mentioned something.

At what point do you stop shooting the messenger and say, maybe these 3 people are not all attempting character assassinations on the kid, and are just trying to push Sané towards changing something - attitude, application, body language, whatever - because he's got all the potential in the world, he can genuinely be one of the very best players in the world and him playing at his best and fulfilling that potential benefits all of them.

People should stop blowing this up into something massive. It's not Toni Kroos stabbing Sané in the back, it's not Sané being lined up to be a whipping boy, it's not a massive issue. It's an international break so yes the papers might give it a bit more coverage than usual, but it's also not an insidious campaign to end the kids career.

It's just a senior pro and 2 managers trying to give a young player a push back on track to being a world beater.

He will either crash & burn at City, & disappear, or he will continue as he did last season & then, sure as shit, be linked with Real Madrid.

Kroos will kiss his fucking arse, if the latter becomes a genuine attempt to sign him.
