"This Is Going To Hurt". Adam Kay.

It's the diaries of a former Junior Doctor. Not for the squeamish. Very sad, very funny and very eye opening. I'm about halfway through and its 8/10 atm.

Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens. Not the watered down kids or film version, but the original. Dickens contrasts the hardships of life for the criminal underclasses and the deprived, against the lifestyle of their overseers and the more wealthy of Victorian society. Although a relatively short novel. there is plenty of descriptive detail, and a happy ending.

Love Michael Connelly with his LA based Cop "Harry Bosch"-series. Preordered new thriller "Dark Sacred Night" to be released on October 30th.
