Players who might improve us

I love it when the Ramsey rumours pop up. Its like people have missed the last 8+ Arsenal. What has been there number one problem?

A complete lack of anyone in midfield with even half a mind to break up the play, press the opposition and track back to help out the defence. Aaron Ramsey has been a mainstay of the team in that period and is one of the worst culprits, almost as bad as Xhaka.

What does a pivot need to do besides play pretty passes? Oh yes all of those things.

I think he's a great player and that season before the leg break when he was scoring for fun he was like a younger Frank Lampard, but not a chance he could be a pivot for us. If we for some reason needed to exchange one of our Free 8's for a homegrown version then yeah I could see him doing alright but even then not for the 250k a week he apparently wants from the arse.

I absolutely hope we are able to extend Sterling, but if we don't I could see us going after Cengiz Under from Roma. We were very interested in him when he was at Basaksehir but he didn't want to come due to how Unal was continually loaned out. He and Chiesa could both be targets from Serie A.

I feel like I am going to get absolutely slaughtered for this but Luke Shaw is running down his contract currently at the swamp, on a free transfer he could be a good back up to Benjamin Mendy.

Zeee is better.

(Edit): For what we are and what we try to do

I have no problem with him bleeding the rags dry while sat on the bench, I just do not think he is good enough for us, Chilwell is the best English left back and it is worth paying extra for a player that is not injury prone and will challenge for a first team spot

I cannot start new thread so i will post here.

City scouts among scouts from other top clubs are monitoring Krzysztof Piątek from Genoa.

23 years old striker. Joined Genoa this summer.
Top goalscorer in serie A. Banged 8 goals in 6 league matches and 4 more in one cup match.

Pavel Nedved (Juventus vice-chairman) confirmed Juve interest in Piątek.

I don't think we'll ever get linked with him, but Hakim Ziyech would be a player Pep would love. In the past I din't really like him as he's a bit flashy, but his quality has definitely superseded that now.

I could see United getting, or Spurs if Eriksen leaves.

He was heavily linked with the Merseyside clubs in the summer but nothing materialized. At 25, he's becoming more of a team player, though admittedly the players around him are maturing and blossoming as well so there's less of a need to showboat.

How do you know Pep would love him?

He told me. I bumped into him in Tesco at the checkout and unprompted by me, he said, "You know, domalino, I just love that Hakim Ziyech kid at Ajax". Then the conversation turned towards how annoying it is when people pretend they can't see you're giving an opinion unless you explicitly state it even when it's really fucking obvious.

Nicolo Barella of Cagliari is someone who could be a possible target for a midfield position. He has a bright future. He has some very good skills and still a lot of upside.

That's not really an answer is it? You are full of opinions so I'll ask once again...You said Pep would love him. I'll make it simple for you, down to your level, what makes you believe that Pep would like him at City?

His passing is incredible - set piece delivery, long passing from deep, through balls, subtle creative stuff around the box - all of it. Pep liking that seems self explanatory, but he's not just technically good but has that bit of ingenuity that makes Pep rave about stuff, like hitting a 40 yard through ball inch perfect with his first touch,.

His work rate is Tevez-like, he will press like a madman, track back, jump into tackles if necessary. Obviously Pep's a big fan of that, he demands it from everyone.

He is a very good dribbler as well, and we know Pep absolutely loves players who can beat a defender and open up space for players further up the pitch.

He arrives in the box to pick up quite a few goals too, and he's quick and a big threat on counter-attacks. Pep's spoken about how he loves Gundogan's ability to arrive at the right time in the box, Ziyech has it as well.

He's been the best player in Holland for a while, and while no big clubs have come in for him yet (IMO because he's a bit of a late bloomer, being 25, and had some attitude issues when he was younger), but now he's putting in performances like the one on Tuesday against Bayern Munich, not just against Eredivisie opposition, I think someone pretty big will pick him up for upwards of €50m.

Like I said I don't think we'll get him, Pep spoke about us not getting another midfielder in that position because Bernardo's moving in and Foden is coming though. More likely Spurs/Liverpool/United go for him, but if you dropped him into our squad I think Guardiola would love him.
