Sterling’s contract - three year extension confirmed

By that logic everyone is running their contract down till they sign a new one,he has 2yrs left

Yeah true but the others aren't negotiating new deals with not a lot of time left on them. People are looking at every scenario, he either stays and signs, is sold or he runs his contract down. It is a forum where people discuss this kind of thing. No one is saying what he is doing we are all speculating and are allowed to discuss it.

I'm not too worried about him running his contract down. He is a different caliber player and I think teams will pay even if he's only got six months left. There's always teams (cough*united*) who are willing to do such a stupid thing. I think we're all wasting our breath anyway because he is going to sign with us.
gen question mate, how much do you think we would get if he had 6 months left on his contract?

Have a hard time imagining Starling at Real Madrid, won't happen I don't think.

Probably £35-40m.

Us and United were fine paying £30m for Sanchez with 6 months left and he's 30 not 23.

He's probably worth £110-120m with a long contract. Dembele/Coutinho type money seems about right for someone who is 4th in the world for goals+assists in the past 15 months.

70-80m with 1 year left. We would have paid 60 for Sanchez,

35-40m under that.

I have a funny feeling that he really wants to try his luck abroad and the way he is treated by the UK press and public who could blame him. They way he is playing now I, for one, would be sad to see him go. But, in the worst case scenario, we get a shed load of money for him and from the existing squad and the Academy we have a load of built-in replacements. The world will go on whatever he decides

If it is not sorted by end of the season I think we will sell him. No way we allow him to run his contract down. We are NOT Arsenal
