He's probably not quite worth what he's asking, but take his contributions at key times, throw in his age and home grown status and it's not far off.

Yes if we give it to him others will see what he gets and measure themselves against it. If they deliver goals and assists and last minute winners like he has then they can get it as well, the cost of having a truly world class squad is a massive wage bill.

Add into that the sitters he has missed, and the no show at klanfield everytime he has played there, if he could finish we would have won the league at home against the rags

Re Sane, last season i thought sterling was better. Having said that, I believe Sané has a higher ceiling. But it isn’t about sane so I shouldn’t have brought him up mate. Hopefully city will get it done.

Frustrating to see a drawn out saga like this but we sort of knew this might happen when dealing with Ward. I really hope it gets sorted and he gets a good few years. It's another 5 year deal that's needed and I guess he's factoring potential inflation in his requests
 
Not nice to see for me. We have never had any trouble sorting contracts with vinny, merlin and Sergio - certainly not enough to have made the media.

He is not worth what he is asking. Had an average World Cup and I am not sure is absolutely top drawer.

If he doesn’t see sense let him go. No better club in the uk to play for than us at present.

Another way of looking at it is the players you mentioned as sad as it's going to be, won't be here in a couple of years. Sterling is 23 and is getting better every season. He could be a key part of our team for the next 10 years if he wanted to. I don't see it as unreasonable giving him a pay raise to keep him here.

And if he hadn't gotten all those last minute winners in the autumn we'd never have pulled away from everyone and ended the league by December.

We had a 13 point lead at Christmas and Sterling's last minute goals got us 10 points by that point.

But people like you would ignore the actually important contributions he made to our greatest ever season because we conceded 3 goals at set pieces in the derby.
