United thread 2018/19

Tom, unlike you btw, gets a hard-on for routinely slagging blues off on a united thread. He does it again and again. That’s not on as far as I’m concerned and I suspect that view is widely shared. I wouldn’t slag a fellow blue off down the pub in the presence of a group of united fans. It’s called looking after your own, in the presence of ‘the enemy’, which is part and parcel of supporting a football club imo. He can say what he wants anywhere else in the board, but repeatedly slagging City fans off on a united thread means he’s a piss-poor excuse for a City supporter imo.

Well done Gordon.someone at last with the balls to say it how it is

They do exploit every opportunity for their own gains though
Undoubtedly and somewhat unashamedly, yes. Still though, a group of kids who I’m sure thought they’d never see light if day again were given a day out that they will never forget. It should be ok to acknowledge that and say well done. I didn’t see United doing it in the same way I wouldn’t have seen spurs do it if it was them. I simply saw a gesture given to some kids who not long ago suffered unimaginable fright. I’m not not going to say something just because it happened to be united. I’m acknowledging the act, not the club.

Sums up this forum that someone saying nice touch from united with the kids and they are labelled a wum. It was a nice touch, they probably had the time of their lives but let’s let our bitterness get in the way of acknowledgement. Whatever the reasons for them kids they’d have loved every second of it fair play.

In terms of the game they are lucky fuckers. How did Smalling stay on the pitch.

Sadly what so often sums up the forum is the same few posters either on the wum, troll or moan Tom.

Great for the kids without a doubt but even greater for the Rag PR machine..... it seems now whenever there is this kind of incident (Chilien miners, Thai boys in a cave) the rags seem compelled to invite them over for a day out, it is like they have a patent on such an event.... why do they feel the need? What are they doing for deprived kids in Partington, a few miles from their Carrington training base?
Agreed, probably already been on the phone to lcfc.

I think you’ve misspelt the second word mate

And those poor little chilian miners. Good old friendly united stepped in there too.
Im not sure who is more pathetic you or them.

And it sums you up that whenever there is an opportunity to support the rags at the expense of your own,you never fail to do so.

Their filthy, manipulative, self serving shit tip of a club couldn't give a flying fuck about them kids.......it was a classic United play! A publicity opportunity and a PR masterstroke - probably the only thing the cvnts are still world class at.

How was what was said at the expense of our own? Nothing to do with City or anyone else. Of course it is a PR thing for them, they probably need it all things considered. That's why I said regardless of Uniteds intentions think of the day them kids had. Does bitterness cloud seeing them kids enjoy themselves? If City done it you all would have a massive hard on. If City done it I also would have said it is a nice touch.

This kind of incident? You mean people being trapped somewhere for a length of time? That is a small pool of incidents to jump on isn't it. Two examples of them doing it that's all. I have no doubt they done it so their club can be seen in a positive light for the first time in a while. No one is stupid enough to thing that it has been done for anything but publicity but at the end of the day them kids would have loved it. Even if United are shite. So you are saying that if you help one person or set of people you are then responsible for deprived kids everywhere? City and United do their community stuff don't they, I imagine both clubs give many free tickets away to the local area etc. The fact is no one is arsed about them in the crowd, big news like them kids and people are bothered.

The best thing they could ever do...I.e. Not invite them to the swamp.

Where is the enemy in this thread? It is City fans discussing United nothing else. I hate them, I love how shit they are and how they are going downhill fast. The fact I barely even care about them anymore shows how irrelevant they have become. What is annoying is the bitter blues who can't hold a normal conversation about them. Pointless thread really, when people are that bitter and biased against them then there is no credibility what so ever. If it can't be acknowledged that for them kids that yesterday would have been a dream for them (despite the team and their standard of play) then it's a losing battle isn't it. United invited them for the wrong reasons, them reasons won't change the day and experience they had after going through a pretty shit time. Simple really and if any other club had done it maybe minus Liverpool then I think the feelings on here would be different.

Up to you bill.
What would you think if City had done that for the kids? The stature of the club is growing as such where in the future kids who ‘support’ us who meet the same fate might just be given a day out like those kids the other day. As I said earlier, it may as well have been stoke who did it. It was the gesture I was acknowledging as decent, not the club. I know the blue goggles on some on here can’t and won’t see past that though, so who do you think is more pathetic there?

I'm sure the kids had a great time and all - laughing at United's shit football probably added to their enjoyment as well - but what a weird club they are. They've literally done more for those kids and the Chilean miners than they've ever done for those affected by the Munich air disaster, who have largely been treated like fucking dogshit by United for the past 60 years.

Jeez do you ever have good things to post? You need some positivity in your life buddy.

I'm just glad we have a couple of fans who display a superior clarity and a more grounded approach where Manchester United are concerned,it helps give the rest of us massive, bitter,Bertie types......a sense of balance and perspective.

So,thanks lads,youre a real credit!

Bit daft that mate. You’ve obviously not been reading. Forget the club, the colours and whatever else. Focus on the gesture. Kids who thought they would die got a day out in the premier league. That is great - for them.
But fuck me for being human eh?

Any gesture from MANUre is more often than not an unashamedly naked publicity stunt. They've already got a Chilean Miners' Supporters' Club and now they have a Thai U16 Potholers' Supporters' Club.
