Led Zeppelin

There wasn’t a Hard Rock in Manchester in 1972.

Certainly was ... though nothing to do with the tacky chain.

I saw two gigs there before it closed it's doors. The 'RAK Records Tour' which had The Arrows, Cozy Powell's Hammer, and Suzi Quatro headlining. I was 15 ... then at the opposite end of the spectrum, Tangerine Dream (in Quad ... maaaaan) Became a B&Q and now closed down. Of course its in a shit part of the town.

Back on topic, could have seen Zeppelin at Knobworth, load of mates went, but by 79, I deemed them 'dinosaurs' and irrelevant given the New Wave etc. Yes, I was a dick then too.
Regret it immensely now.

Mrs Trick's favourite band. She even has a Led Zep reg plate.

Saw them at Manchester Uni in '69, twice in a week at the Free Trade Hall and Belle Vue but can't remember which year and at the Hardrock on Greatstone Road.

Re the Hardrock, Bowie opened it (was there) also saw Lou Reed, Focus, ELP, J Geils Band, Quo, Nazareth. McCartney, 10cc, Rod Stewart plus many more there

Great band saw them at the hard rock,2 nights Earl’s Court knebworth both nights and manhiem Germany on the last ever tour
For those who are to young to have seen them at the hardrock have a listen to this

Nope, but I was at the Jimi Hendrix Experience gig on 7 Jan 1967. A night of extraordinary music I shall never forget.
Nice. Never saw the man himself but I played a gig in Ireland with the surviving two in the 80's; Mitch Mitchell and Noel Redding. Both now sadly deceased. Noel used to live in my hometown and was a great friend.
