Sterling’s contract - three year extension confirmed

Wonder if City knew all these Der Shitegel stories were going to come out and have just waited until they did to break this news. Good timing!

And great news anyway, let’s try and win two Ballon d’Ors with Raheem and Leroy in the next five years!

I've not said anything at all along the lines that Sterling is a clumsy twat.

Moreover, I've lauded his performances and have identified him as one of our very best current players

Is there a better winger currently in world football? - I don't know - maybe? But Sterling is certainly in the discussion.

Might Sterling up his game still more? Becoming an even better player? - hell, yeah! He could gain confidence, shooting when that is the better option, and being even more clinical when in on goal.

For me, Sterling is on the cusp of a Balon Dior award - it seems to me that confidence is holding him back.

Too, that lack of confidence is what is hampering his performances in the national squad.

Very very pleased with Raz signing on the dotted, he's an excellent player and of course prospect because he's going to improve past the player he is now and he's no slouch. Good business by City and I can look forward to seeing the lad in a blue shirt for a few years yet.

Read it again,i called him a clumsy twat not you,he has no lack of confidence for us,nobody here gives a flying fuck about the england team,it means nothing,sergio and messi aren't great for Argentina,it means nothing so discount that and look at his form for us,he is on fire,nothing wrong with passing,it's a team game,he gave Sane a goal instead of taking the hatrick because he felt he needed it,that is team spirit,i feel you dissect players in isolation instead of watching them play for each other

If you think that Sterling's current play is perfect - the best he could achieve - well then, I respectfully disagree with you - Sterling has it in him to increase his game even more.

And it's not innate ability that's holding him back - it's lack of confidence.

Where do get this idea that Southgate doesn't trust Sterling? His starts would put the lie to that.

WRT Messi - Messi is the best player in the world over the past decade bar none. But his skillset is enhanced by intricate 1-2 passing - which is diminished in the Argentinian squad.

Ronaldo - well, he's an amazing individual - repeat individual. He's not a team player.

Ronaldo isn't quite in the same boat as Ibra (amazing individual but probably a net minus for any side in which he plays) - Ronaldo is a likely a net plus, but he's a total prick and likely causes those around him to perform at non-optimal levels.

Stop telling me to calm down,the england team means nothing,the media and pundits crucify him without mercy in an england shirt but you wouldn't know that,he has no lack of confidence for us if you get your head out of the stats and watch the game

For you the England team means nothing - your sentiment isn't universal.

For City, yes, he absolutely lacks a bit of confidence. He still tends to pass rather than shoot when shooting is the better option.
