Sterling’s contract - three year extension confirmed

The power of the media is amazing as even after his fantastic last season Sterling was not rated by virtually every non City fan and by many City fans-including a lot of Bluemooners-just look at the early parts of this thread -special mention to Meesh and Tom_mcfc. Raheem Sterling he's top of the league.

Glad to see Sterling get the extension.

Sterling's game has grown by leaps and bounds under Pep - he's one of our best players now, contributing with assists and goals as well as on defense.

Still, there's potential for improvement. Namely, Sterling is still far too reluctant to shoot - if a pass seems to be on, he'll more often than not attempt the pass - even when a shot on goal is the better option.

Too, Sterling seems to be a bit clumsy at times - inexplicably so (e.g., his recent kicking of the turf and subsequent tripping).

TL/DR - Sterling is class. But still suffers from a bit of rawness in his game and lack of confidence. Under Pep, he may get better still.
Have you been watching him this season,he might be a clumsy twat but he is scoring some great goals and is full of confidence, you can dissect players too much you know

I've no questions, but tell him I hope is toe is OK after Wednesday, but the fact that it wound the dippers up a bit more, has made for a great week.
I thought about that particular question but I’m sure many were on it . I asked him when he is going sign the contract ;)

the need to know the ins and out of a cats ass by the media is shocking ?? so fucking what if sterling is on £300.000 a week the lad is worth every single penny, did the media hype on about the granny shagger (rooney) and his wage demands or he was off the greedy fucker was getting £250.000 a week 10 years ago so sterling new deal is cheap as chips

I hope you’re joking .
With Raheem and his critics nothing would surprise me. He's probably personally responsible for all the knife crime in London. He's not actually denied stabbing anyone

Anyway the more ridiculous things get printed about him the more successful he will have been for City so bring it on

Fantastic news. But I can’t shake this premonition of hearing rags chanting “What a waste of money” at him on Sunday. Hopefully because he’s just missed an empty net tap in which means a 6-0 win instead of 7-0.

Irrespective of his reported wage, he must be the most under-appreciated player in the game.

If he were playing for one of the other ‘big’ sides, he’d be rightly regarded as one of the best wingers/forwards in the world.

His basic won't be 300k a week so ignore the media all saying that,at one time every player we brought was 50 million quid, they just pick a number and all stick to it,i'm delighted another young player is prepared to spend a large part of their time with us,this will be 8 yrs or there abouts for him if he does do the length of his contract

My sole derogatory remark about Sterling has been his lack of technical ability...ball control, finishing, kinesthetic sense...not that he has scored one of five attempts on a regular basis, usually from inside the 6 yard box, and occasionally from a bit further out.

Last season, he scored a basketful, to be certain, but how many did he miss? Is there another player in the country who EVERYONE thinks will not score on a one on one breakaway against the keeper? Sterling is looking for the type of contract that others have earned by their years of consistent, world class, performances. I don’t think he has done that. Rather, he had the season of his life in a team that laid on AT LEAST FOUR TIMES the goal scoring chances he actually put away, and broke team records that may never be bettered. In short, he had a good season.

I don’t think that warrants the type of contract City’s top, top players currently enjoy, mostly in the twilight of their careers.
I mean kinesthetic sense-suppose he had none for the pen on Wednesday!
