You realise how good he is when you see the likes of Allison and Pickford, lauded for their supposed abilities with the ball, not even on the same planet as Eddie.

So apparently he played a rather ridiculous pass at the end of the game, which I shamefully missed.

Anyone have a gif?

Absolutely love him and wouldn't swap him for anyone (to play for City). However it has been a while since he last pulled off a save that wow'ed me. Not a criticism, just an observation.

To be fair, he doesn’t really get the chance to pull off to many saves. None of the goals he’s let in recently have been soft. Maybe could have done a little bit better for Wilson’s goal, but it should just be left at that.

Yeah it's not ridiculous to say he isn't an elite level shot stopper. He's still a young and still relatively inexperienced goalkeeper all things considered; there's plenty of time to improve.

Saying that, suggesting he's average or even below par in the shot stopping regards is dramatic and doing him somewhat of a disservice; he'd probably be able to prove this more if he played for one of the weaker sides out there.

I wouldn’t even go as far as saying he should have done better. It was a good header.

If you can ignore the ball control side is Allinson not a better goalkeeper. I am not convinced by Ederson saves. He is fantastic with his ball control and distribution but he is not in the Degea class. The last goal he conceded was stoppable . Zinchenko and centre halves seem to be taking the blame
I suppose his distribution outways his penalty giveaways but when a a shot comes in I have no confidence.

No I'm not I think degea and Allison are better shot shoppers. The Brazilian manager thinks do as well. I said that his side tribur room is fantastic probably best in the world
I just think that 3 of the last 4 goals conceded were his fault no one else's.

Lol. Fuck off.

He doesn't get enough credit for his concentration levels. He's used more as an outfield player than a goalkeeper. I fucking love the guy. He's Steve McQueen in Cool Hand Luke.

Hope not, we do need a goalkeeper sometimes.

Is ederson better than Degea. I don't think so. I Would think that most premier managers would pick degea over ederson. And don't tell me fuck off again
De Gea saves United many, many points every season with his shot stopping. Indeed, his save against Aguero in the 2-3 derby last season was excellent and saved them two points. However, Ederson is EVERYTHING City want and need as a keeper, and I honestly wouldn’t swap him for De Gea. Honestly.

I don’t think De Gea is a commanding keeper AT ALL. And, he doesn’t like to leave his six yard box or even his line BECAUSE he is an excellent shot stopper. But, a flashy goal line save doesn’t add up to the 90 minutes of a 12th man that Ederson provides.

Allison is clearly a good keeper, too, and his point blank save today was similar to Ederson’s in the Swamp derby. However, I wouldn’t swap him for Ederson, either. Ederson is EXACTLY what we need, even if he has made a couple of errors on PKs that didn’t affect the outcome of the game.
