Leicester (League Cup) - Post Match Thread.

Not if they have to mark Fellaini at a corner they won't. Otherwise Angelino would walk into this team.

Pep has mixed technical ability & smaller tricky players, with pace, strength & physical size elsewhere which is why we are so good.

But we never got caught out from any set piece. We got caught out by a player switching off and not having the pace or gumption to recover.

Tonight yes.

Try playing Zinchenko & Garcia v Spurs & see how we get on.

We got done last week by Luiz & Everton scored with a shit header because the big guy got on Delph.

Thought Stones looked so uncomfortable, his control looked worse as there is less time on the ball. It was a case of just about controling the ball and getting rid of it (backwards) safely more often than not. Gundogan was his usual self, looked ok.

Funny how people see different things

I thought he looked totally comfortable there and hardly gave the ball away all night

I must admit I laughed in a WTF way when Raheem skyed his penalty.

The worst thing about this is we could face two big games against a big London club who will be well up for getting to a final. Hoping for Burton in the draw.

Nope. Diaz is just a kid, was a bit greedy at times, he's still learning his position.

Stones looked like a fish out of water. Because he was, great CD though and worth a look at him there, just didn't work. I'd have rather seen Gomez but it would have been too many youth players IMO.

We had won the league by this time last year barring a Devon loch style collapse. I think we could risk it. 3 extra games isn’t ideal when the league is so close but as fans obviously a day at Wembley and another trophy is always important. Maybe not as important to the players and Pep given the fight we have this year.

True, for the supporters it is all important, but this season is shaping up to be Neptune Colonges against Sunnyhillyboy, to keep your Grand National analogy going, and I sense we're going to need every ounce of energy for the finishing straight.

I think that's just down to our full backs not quite as good a previous ones pep's had to work with.
All of them lack some real composure at times. Otamendi didn't cover himself with glory last week,
throwing himself around slashing at the ball, trying to clear.

About 65% of every game he plays at LB!

Do you watch the games, or just look at the supposed formation and that’s it?!

Oh ffs.

No.

He moves into midfield.

Wow. I never knew.

He still has to defend af fullback.

Did you miss the bit where he was stood watching the moon as the ball sailed over his head for Leicester to score ? No ?

Then plesse don't make me out to be an idiot for mentioning thaf he's a fullback.

Oh he didn't give the ball away, but it rarely went forward with purpose, it was like his only aim was to not lose possession. Shite floated balls when switching that got cut out. Not cut out for that at all, like I said, not his fault, he doesn't understand the role, or if he does, he's not good enough to play there offensively.

Stones had a good game. Diaz didn’t. The end.

Everytime I watch Diaz play it tells me he will never become top class as he doesn't release the ball when he should
You may say he's young and still learning, but this happens every time I watch him and he's not learning from his errors

We have about 65% possession in every game. In possession, he slides inside and we play with a back 2 or 3.

You can CALL him anything you want, but it doesn’t affect WHERE HE PLAYS for the majority of the games.

Tonight's game showed me that fullback is still an issue.

Walker has played far too much football but Danilo has badly struggled with injuries.

Mendy can't be relies upon at all. Delph is okay there but Zinchenko is having a torrid time there at the moment.
