Actually really disgustingly so, but that's what internet anonymity can do for people. Some of the comments on here are well over the top
I expected this response. For those of us who are old enough, Joe Mercer’s first signing back in the sixties was Tony Book. I think he was 33 or 34. He Captained our 1st division winning team in 1968 and won footballer of the year at 37. I think as long as we don’t expect him to charge up and down the touch line Vinny would be just fine. He could also play the DM role. Can`t see Kompany in this role. Far to slow and not as athletic as you need to be. I can only hope Danilo stays fit or I suppose we could try Delph on the right and Zinchenko left... the other hope is against what he has said Pep goes out and buys!
That’s probably because Booky maybe didn’t smoke or drink as many pints as the winger he was marking the night before !!!I expected this response. True, but (and this only my opinion) we haven’t bought well. The hierarchy at Spurs thought Walker was past his best when we bought him. Danilo and Mendy have spent more time injured than they have playing. I think Danilo looks pretty good. I have been less than impressed with Mendy who I think is just a quicker version of Kolarov.18 months ago we spent £130m on fullbacks.. so someone has got it totally wrong.
Ha, I don’t think he ever played against Tony ColemanThat’s probably because Booky maybe didn’t smoke or drink as many pints as the winger he was marking the night before !!!
He has been a brilliant signing who has improved this side dramatically.Unfortunately, for whatever reason.....he's lacking form presently and looks a tad out of sorts. He will recover, and he will rediscover his best, the lad's a winner.
Some comments and opinion in this thread are shameful.
Yep,its very much to his credit that he always makes himself available,he will always put himself on the line and he never goes hiding, while our sick notes and perma absentees are getting a much easier ride around these parts. To a large extent Walker is being hung out to dry. He is clearly mentally and physically shot and has been for some time yet he has to play nearly every game as Danilo always seems to have mystery injuries that means he is rarely available to play other than for Brazil. Kyle really needs an extended break to recharge and refocus but unless Danilo is available for an extended run of games (& that hasn't been the case whilst he has been at the club) then he isn't going to get one.
Unfortunately we have signed two chronic sicknotes in both Danilo and Mendy and it's definitely a factor in our recent drop off in form.

He is obviously well out of form probably for a number of reasons and needs resting. Danilo is more than capable if he can stay fit, it is a shame that we didn't keep Maffeo he looked to have the potential to make that spot his own. We are seeing how critical the fullback positions are again and it's looking like we will need to recruit there again as both Danilo and especially Mendy are not available enough during a season and we need specialist players there for rotation
We are also not protecting the defence as well as last season this was highlighted by the difference Kdb made when he came on yesterday. I like Gundo and Bernard as footballers going forward but they are not great at preventing the counter attack, the less said about JS in that position the better.
I thought the Palace RB Wissaka is very impressive every time I have seen him the same for Chillwell at Leicester. They would be ideal but I can't see us spending another 100 million on fullbacks anytime soon.
