That's true, both I'd say.
My point being though that Delph would be adequate cover in Fernandhino's position though, whereas Stones and Gundogan just aren't, Danilo may also be, but he's rarely fit to fill in for Walker, who he's really here to cover.

The FB positions are a serious issue for me, with 2 almost permanently injured, especially when we're having to use people there that could be decent cover for Fernandhino if he's out, as he is at the moment.

Fernandinho is better with & without the ball, than anyone who replaces him & anyone who is likely to replace him.

Which means imo, the rest of them collectively & the manager, need to get their fucking act together rather than just assuming he will fix it. He might lose it, even if he plays, at his age.

SOMEBODY has to take up the positions & have the brains to occupy the areas Fernandinho does & especially when we lose the ball.

So many people on here were going on about Stones moving the ball too slowly or not playing enough forward passes, but it was his defensive frailty & lack of awareness which let us down, which is the same with Gundogan & would have been even worse with Jorginho. We can still win games with 4 or 5 less creative passes down the middle IF the attackers pick the right final ball, but we can clearly see that our back 4 needs protecting.

1st of all that requires not having a great big fucking hole in the middle of midfield, before we even.get onto reading the game.

If one player can't do it, they all have to do a bit each.

It's the one area of the squad Liverpool have a big advantage over us - they have 4-5 players who can play this position to a high level. We only have one.

I may be stating the bleeding obvious but this must be addressed in January if we're to have any chance of salvaging the season.

Strikes me watching these clips is the amount of chances we actually miss. For all the goals we score there are so many fluffed chances from Fernandinho's through balls.

Through balls that people consistently say, he doesn't or can't play.

But he can be just as effective at the other end just by standing in the right place without even touching the ball, or running with the right player without the ball even going there, (or tripping someone up, at the halfway line).

Just that movement, prevents a lot of shit situations which happen when he's not there.

Pretty much impossible to replace, as Yaya was before him. The team are just going to have to get used to playing another way, the defence and rest of midfield cant rely on Fernandinho bailing them out of the shit every week.

De Jong is not a replacement for Fernandinho, Ndombele has the physicality but lacks the nous imo and Aaour is nice and tidy but I fear he will be steam rolled in the prem.

Saying on Twitter (I know!) that he's doubtful for sunday, and will therefore be someway short of full fitness for the dippers game.
No Dinho, no LB, Kev, Walker and Aguero out of form. Call me pesimistic, but I don’t look forward to the dippers game

For Dinho to have any chance of playing against the Dippers , he will definitely need to be involved against the Saints , either playing the 1st sixty minutes or from the bench , if he is selected for the "nailed on" 2019 Champions game on Thursday after a six game lay off , it will be a big ask to expect him to be at his best.

He has a very unique skill set. That's what makes him the player he is and so damn hard to replace.

Fast
Agile
Physical
Ball winner
Good in the air
Plays on the half turn and looks to play forward
Positional sense
Intelligent
Big engine
Leader
Composed
Relatively injury free

Other players have a lot of limitations. They're either much weaker offensively, or much weaker defensively.

Sure, they may be stronger in one or more facets of the game than he is, but Fernandinho just has so many different bases covered. He's the type of player that any club could build a quality side around.
