I think Sergio got frustrated v Saints with that tackle he put in getting booked, Just before the tackle Mahrez never bothered his ass to put in a challenge.

Happy new year to all blue mooners ! I agree with you, Mahrez tracks back and defends better than Sane. Playing Raheem and Sane together in this game will be suicidal given that both of them try always to take players on leaving us exposed to counter attacks if they lose the ball which has been happening more often than not lately; whereas, Mahrez tends to play it safe and does not attemp dribles unless necessary. I hope Mahrez starts as we can not afford to lose today.

I dont think he has it in him to put his body on the line and put in challenges, Then again I always think your more likely to get injured going in half hearted into a tackle.
I'm hoping it's Sane and Sterling starting Thursday night, Liverpool will be caused far more problems with them both in the team IMO.

Im really not sure why we bought Mahrez for such a huge sum.He was never going to be a starter and he doesn´t offer anything special either,at least not this season.I always thought we should get a winger ,who can dribble to left and right and give in crosses with both legs, yes these are hard to find these days ,but Mahrez is pretty similar to Bernardo, he always goes back to his left foot,it´s pretty predictable most of the time.

You didn’t but my point was that Gundogan like Mahrez doesn’t tackle or work hard enough yet you would play Gundogan to win the midfield battle? No hatred just my opinion based on watching both players. Both technically gifted but not what you need to achieve what your post suggested. Liverpool have pace all over the pitch so why pick Gundogan who is our slowest player?
