Merson pre match...

"This might sound silly, but I'd be shocked if Manchester City won this game. I'd be shocked. I just can't see how they can stop Liverpool from scoring goals. As the game goes on, I just don't see how Liverpool don't go on to win it.

It’s beyond belief the coverage these twats get in the media, Vinny’s challenge didn’t even look like a foul in real time.
We were lucky according to Klopp, why can’t they just hold their hands up and admit we were better.

Thanks City, you made my weekend. :)

Exceptional performance from Bernardo & Fernandinho

Wonderful finish from Sergio & Sane

Kompany & Stones were reliable

Laporte not comfortable in LB position

Sterling didn't convince me, but he made the assist and created another great chance for Sergio so can't complain.

reading between the lines, (dangerous but wtf) it was sheer relief at beating the media's pet team, it just added to the occasion, for me and the majority of posters. The thought of the media going full throttle dipper-fest was truly horrifying. Seems like years ago that we had a game with so much riding on it, on a win being so vital.
Didn't really enjoy it tbh,, until the final whistle. Must be getting soft... Fantastic result, we beat a team at the top of their game, on a long unbeaten run with the best gd, and they gave us problems. The fact we got three points is important, oc, but the lift for fans and players is exactly what we needed for the games to come. Champion stuff .....
If we had got two goal lead, roof would have gone off and we could have enjoyed it. Only really did so right at the end and of course when the goals went in.

Lets not get carried away. I still believe we have more than enough to do them over 38 games however they are still in the box seat. We have gone over the course and distance and they take the psychological damage of a first defeat into a massive run of games - FA Cup... CL.... PL. Let us see how they handle that burden.
Let's stalk them until the end of March.Let them stay a couple of points in front,it will be like having a tiger two feet away from your arse, you sweat, look over your shoulder and then feel those fangs sinking in.

We saved Christmas and New Year 2018/2019. Best to do it this way around

Eckin Hell! I don't even support City but I was so ecstatic come full time! Amazing performance and thank you for beating those over entitled, woah is me, victim mentality cnuts.

I don't think I've seen Liverpool so pushed back and stifled tbh (Yeah they had their chances but you guys dominated them). There's no question you are the best team in the league and if you don't win the league it won't be because another team is better than you but rather of your own misfortune/doing (Don't mean in a negative way). Anyway congrats on the win and performance, hopefully Liverpool are shook and go on a bad run from here.

its sad to see the effects of drink and drugs on a person............oh no ...........he has always been a thick ****. My apologies to addicts.

working and class and rat, very very old skits. unoriginal, but never mind try again ......
in reality though, we deserved a draw, but luck wasnt on our side....... Arsenal got lucky with unbeatable season. We will win the league, i feel something in my bones, if not the league then the Champoins league......why because its in our blood, red royalty, red winners and absolute legends
Did they teach you English and punctuation at school, and lower case 'i' is never used on it's own?

Hats off to Pep and all the team tonight. That was a great performance, and, if we had a little bit of luck against Liverpool, God knows that it was long, long overdue. You can't win without a bit of luck, but the fact is that we were by far the better team tonight, and showed them up as not being the invincibles the media would have us believe. Given that David Silva didn't really turn up, and we still had no De Bruyne, and no proper left back - against the most dangerous right sided striker in the Premier League - the performance against that lot was unbelievable.

Let's hope it's the start of their wobble. Unfortunately, they only have to come Brighton and West Ham away in the league, with Palace, Leicester and Bournemouth at home. As we know, anything is possible, but, they would have been odds on to get 15 points from that lot, until tonight. We have to at least match them over these next 5 league games until Europe kicks in again. Then the pressure on them will be relentless with us snapping at their heels, and they'll wobble properly - hopefully.....and we'll be waiting.... :-)

Jeez FC, I've just seen Wijnaldum bemoaning the fuckin' luck they had tonight! They used up their fucking luck v EFC! Greedy bastards!

i have a degree, but yes i cant read.......... tell your mum its half eleven lad, or ask her for inspirational jokes
Not sure what your degree was for but it was not for English - it should be either :"but yes I can read" or "but no I cannot read" and your other blooper "tell your mum it is half eleven".

Okay back off to South Wales with a smile on my face. Thank goodness Bernardo is back still chasing the ball in the 94th minute. Fern superb and Vinny provided the leadership. Fans were superb tonight and you could see the whistling and booing really got to them. Best fans in the world my arse. They were one of the poorest set of supporters to visit the Etihad. Only sang when they scored and were silent for most of the game. Their fans are a myth as we all know. Well done Pep outthought Klopp. Enjoyed that and Sergio never lets us down, with Kevin to come back as well. A great night!

Because they are what they are.
