League Cup Final Post - Match Thread

Georginho should have gone for this. Clear intent and dangerous.

I'm sure the disciplinary panel will be all over it...…….. Oh, wait - will they fuck, because Sky/BT/BBC aren't showing it on a loop.

Winston Reid says hi by the way.

Absolutely should have been a red but unfortunately there are very few refs that would give it in the 2nd second of a cup final, which is why Jorginho was probably confident he could get away with it.

At one point I thought he was doing just that - he did head towards the tunnel and the exit (TV commentators were wondering if he had been sent to stands) but I knew it wasn't that - I think for a moment he did consider walking out because of the keeper thing. A guy on Talksport has just said what Chelsea's Directors should do: sack the keeper and tell the players that the Manager Sarri is staying for the duration of his contract, so you lot better start playing for him.

But he added they wont do that, player power gone mad.
Some years ago, the Wigan players were clearly not playing for whatshisface (that scouser). Chairman Dave goes into the dressing room (despite his broken leg!) and says:
"I'll sack you lot before the manager".
Amazingly results changed.
Edit. Jewell?

VAR did take a look.

And both were likely *just* onside.

Really poor all around from the officials.
When they give that fat **** Moss a cup final with Martin 'makes-it-up-as-he-goes' Atkinson on VAR, they're not looking for good refereeing.

It appears he follows through with his arm as he passes Aguero. Looks intentional to me.

I wonder if there are any other angles of it.

I am trying not to go in to my usual “it’s all fixed” rant... because we won.

This is me being magnanimous. ;-)

Rules should be the same from the first whistle to the last, and it shouldn't matter which team you play for. I honestly believe that if it were the other way round, Aguero walks for that.

If you’ve seen any of my posts in the referees performance thread you’ll know I absolutely agree with you that it should be the same regardless of the time it happens in the match.

I am just saying what is unfortunately the reality.

Anyone noticed walker stepped backwards and picked up which looked like a handful of grass and either kissed or ate right before Raz pk ?
Any clip?

Played badly, they pushed us but never threatened. Who cares, we won and its another trophy to support our dominance
A lot of players off form today, which can happen, but the long term form of kev and david is worrying. Time to trust foden and give them a rest
Bernardo and raheem are incredible right now. Such a high consistent level. Raz especially seems such a good lad
Jorginho is a little rat
