Football Leaks/Der Spiegel articles

Thanks, I'm still not convinced that either bayern or the dfb don't have an interest in these "leaks" (stolen communications) though.
Given the ongoing cold war between UAE and Qatar I suspect the motive for the dirty tricks campaign against City is likely to be political. No doubt however that the crooks who run Bayern are rubbing their hands with glee at the situation as well as the rest of the G14 cartel, especially Liverpool, United and Real Madrid. We'll see how it plays out but I am not as optimistic about the outcome as some are on this board. I think we will be forced to fight UEFA in the courts and it will drag on for years. Win or lose our reputation will be damaged.

So long as we keep on winning I couldn't care less, if we win their big pot, and they ban us, their competition loses any credibility if the holders can't defend it. UEFA want a court case about as much as we do.

I think you are right. The last thing Uefa want is a court case. That's why they settled last time. But the problem is that both sides are now backed into a corner. If they sanction us we will have to fight back. If they take no action their credibilty is finished.
There is also our backing of a rival World club competition to the CL looming in the background which is not helping matters. City were very careless to allow our data to be breached like this and it has created a big problem.

I reckon it's all related to the FIFA Club World Cup, which I reckon our owners are behind. If MBS hadn't screwed up by chopping that journalist to pieces we could have had it by now. On the other hand, if he fancies doubling down, I could think of a few more candidates for his hacksaw squad.

So long as we keep winning.....

Lets win their big pot this year, it'll go very quiet.

It worries me that PSG have an inside man. It seems that the elite are desperate for an example to be made of either us or PSG. I can't see UEFA doing anything to PSG when they have 1 of theirs working for them.
They are not going easy on PSG at all.
PSG is under investigation since almost 2 years now ! When i mean investigation, it is not your current newspapers attacks on the club but UEFA actually checking all the documents, audit of the club books by, so far, 2 audit companies, several rulings they are, later on, overruling to try and sanction PSG. All that after Tebas came crying for Real and Barça because PSG took Neymar and Mbappé. You can even see that Tebas was again crying out loud when the news came that Nasser would be elected by ECA to represent them in UEFA committee. He said he would move heaven and earth to stop it from happening.

And keep in mind that this investigation is for the 3 years period before Neymar and Mbappé transfers. The last summer window of that period we had bought Ben Arfa (no transfer fee), Krychowiak (40 M) and Jesé (25 M). I mean it was hardly our most expensive acquisitions. So, if they are already trying to punish us when we didn't spend that much, don't you wonder what is coming for us now that they will take into account Neymar + Mbappé transfer ?

Among PSG, City and Chelsea, the french club is the one that had/has it harder in regards of FFP, mostly because we don't have the PL money.

And again, Nasser is not a man in the inside, he has been elected by his peers, the club presidents. That only means he has some influence and is liked by a good amount of presidents because you can be sure Bartomeu, Woodward and the other cartel guys are surely not rooting for him. UEFA has nothing with him being chosen by ECA. For the record, he is taking the position of the ex Arsenal guy Gazidis. Since Agnelli is already elected by ECA and is in Italy Serie A, Gazidis couldn't remain in his position (Milan AC is also in the same league organisation). This is the reason why a new election took place.

I hope your man gets his place and puts his feet up and lights a cigar whilst using Tebas's glass as an ashtray. Anything that pisses that elitist arse off can only be good, even if that involved nuclear war.

I'm convinced the same happens in England, but they can't actually stop us, we're too good, I hope its the same this year for UEFA.
UEFA has one last trick on their book : referees. They don't need to do a lot, just giving the 50/50 chances all for the team they want to favor. We have seen how Real and Barcelona have been very often on the good side of those decisions. CL is such a tight competition that it can tip the balance of a tie. You experienced it against Liverpool on the return leg : a disallowed goal stopped your momentum and sealed the tie.

I'm sure UEFA will play their joker with us, should we look like going too far in the competition.
I give you Senor Lahoz.

We get this most weeks in domestic competitions, I'm sure we can overcome it in UEFA competitions too, obviously we have to be at our very best, so that may be our downfall in the CL because we have to be even better.

If we do it, they have a serious problem.

Piece from Sam Cunningham in the i today - not made to the website yet, but that's not unusual.
Basically:
- the two mentioned PL cases are those relating to Christensen and Sancho (he describes the Sancho 'agent' as a FFP dodge, which I don't think is right, but that bit seems as if it's tacked on for the heck of it - the emphasis is on the authorities not bothering)
- the PL ducked and made it the FA's problem
- football authorities across Europe haven't contacted him
- some sports law expert he asked said a court solicitor would think carefully about using the Football Leaks stuff, but it's not entirely unuseable
- the football authorities can decide what to do with it themselves, without legal niceties
- only about 1/3 of the stuff is released so far
- the main man behind FootballLeaks, Rui Pinto, is under house arrest in Hungary, wanted for extortion, etc.
- British financial investigators contacted him, but were not replied to as they wanted his identity (now known, of course)
- had several enquiries from tax authorities

Id love to see UEFA take us to court, Khaldoon will not take it likely. We would tie UEFA up for years in appeals and various other cases.

What does it mean and how does it work?

as in they can decide what they put value on, without needing to concern themselves with legal use.

I assume that the legal value issue would then be considered in a second step - presumably horsetrading with a club who know that there is almost certainly a wish to avoid court action. A sort of "we know you're guilty, but we also know that the evidence may not be enough should this end up in court, so let's come to an arrangement"

We. took the "Pinch" last time, can't see us doing that again.
