Not according to next years rules. The confusion comes as to whether they are meant to be applied now.

The thing is, plenty of people that have played lots of football (and refereed) professionally are saying penalty and lots are saying it wasn’t. That’s an issue. The law and public interpretation needs to be far more clear to avoid this confusion.

Agreed and it’s bad enough getting done by terrible decisions without var, if it happens using var then it’ll be even worse. Hypothetical question, we are playing Liverpool in the next round and van dyke does the same as that tonight in the final minute. Does the ref use var to give us a pen? Does he fuck.

We have been shafted at Barcelona two years ago.
Real got a penalty when we were leading 1 - 0 at Bernabeu for a guy that was offside. That was getting shafted. But i wasn't too mad because Real deserved to go through with the return leg.
We had a clear penalty on Bernat at Napoli that ref didn't give and it was crucial at the moment to qualify.
Today is not on the ref.

The officiating at that Barcelona/PSG game was horrendous. The football world was creaming itself at Barca's comeback, and completely ignored the terrible injustice done to Emery and PSG. I felt really sorry for your gang that night.

Rather play them lot than PSG. Real, PSG and one of Juventus or Atleti out before the quarter finals. With a bit of luck (and impartial referees) we have a real opportunity this season

I can see a flaw there tbh.

Our future training sessions should concentrate on smashing the ball into the penalty area, anywhere near an arm scream for a pen, and start drawing a TV screen to tell the ref he should take it to VAR.
