Yep. Why would 12 Premier League clubs want to know from the FA what punishment we could face, unless the terms of that demand were first agreed upon.

That points to either an in-house Premier League driver between a clique who have approached the rest of the clubs and have already drafted the demand (plausible)

Or, a massive coincidence that The Times, within just hours of the UEFA announcement have suddenly come up with a story, which can't be proved or denied either way (especially as they didn't have the stones to name the said clubs)

The Times are lying or have done the leg work themselves.

For three months we were being reliably informed UEFA had already opened an investigation, which has clearly been proved as bullshit.
Wheres that daily mail picture of 4 chief execs getting cozy over dinner. I believe it was the rags, dippers, arse and chavs?

To be fair, the headline doesn't square with what Klopp actually said. It was typical media shit-stirring. As much as I'm not keen on Klopp, he was obviously asked the question and said IF we were guilty of breaking FFP rules we should be punished. Funnily enough, that's exactly what Guardiola was quoted as saying in the same article. The headline is an utter disgrace really.

As for whether Liverpool have any links to these leaks, that's a different issue and I wouldn't be surprised if they were. I doubt Klopp would have any involvement in that though. More likely it's that twat of an owner John W.Henry who was like a giddy schoolkid when the Etihad deal was announced with his "What was the losing bid?" jibe, displaying classic lack of self-awareness traits found in some Liverpool fans, what with him being a Boston-based owner who signed a kit deal for Liverpool with Boston-based Warrior who were already contracted to supply the kit for Boston Red Sox whose principal owner is none other than John W.Henry. I wonder what the losing bid for that deal was eh John?

To be fair, being found guilty of FFP breaches in 2014 seemingly had little or no impact on either growing our fanbase or our appeal to sponsors.

Have you seen the empty seats? ;)

You're right, though, it didn't. I worry that continuous dragging up may, though.

Indeed. It was Ziegler at the Times who started all this by interpreting Ceferin's "...concrete case..." comment as meaning we'd been hung, drawn & quartered already. Someone's pulling his strings in my opinion.

I think the surname gives it away...another pompous Germanic concerned citizen.

These guys aren't as clever as they think they are, at least to someone like me who knows all the tricks of the trade and can see a shot-to-nothing piggy-backer when I see one.

You see it more and more in reporting these days. A story breaks and then everyone seemingly has the inside track and has "sources"

If they had the said inside track, they would have broken the story in the first fucking place. Certainly not just following up UEFA and City press releases.

The desperation and resentment from UEFA and our established rivals laid bare for all to see. Basing an investigation on the content and perception of hacked emails? Em, ok, that sounds legit...

Had this on the BBC this morning. "Numerous sources are reporting ..." bollocks. It's just to make it sound like something serious has definitely happened and they can report it as news instead of what it actually is ... rumours and accusations from one place.

If UEFA basically make up new rules or try to stretch the interpretation of their exiting rules beyond reason, they will end up in court and I don't think that will be a lottery: I think UEFA will simply lose.

Ultimately, UEFA can't just punish us for the hell of it or because it suits the G14 etc.

Thank god! One more of a small number of posters who keep a cool head and a sizeable dose of sound common sense in the face of the "we're all doomed school.

Pep Guardiola has said whatever he achieves with Manchester City will not be tarnished by recent Financial FairPlay allegations. He also hopes the case is finished as soon as possible. "I trust what the club has done."

“The club made a statement, so I can't add any more to that. The club are open, hopefully it can finish as soon as possible. I trust a lot what the cub has done, because I know them and hopefully they can solve it as soon as possible."

As usual, it probably a mixer of the two. We have probably bent/broken the rules a bit, but that doesn't make for a good story, so there has been a little bit of elaboration to the stories to make them a little more "mouth watering" for some. Similar to the fine we got a couple of years ago.

We'll probably get nothing or a small fine or short transfer ban.

Certain fans appear to think their clubs are whiter than white, but this is basically like your internet history, no one wants their it to be broad cast for all to see and trawl through enough content, you'll find something which would concern you, and I'm certain this is the same for any club.

Red twat Simon Stone asking shithouse questions at the press conference. i.e. asking Pep if his legacy will be tainted"...

UEFA want this to end up in the CAS. In the CAS illegally obtained documents can be used as evidence.
They can be submitted as evidence but it will be for CAS to judge whether the evidence is worthy of consideration in reaching their final verdict. I doubt very much that UEFA want any case ending up at CAS, who have plenty of previous for setting aside or reducing sanctions.

A process at CAS will be two way in terms of disclosure- so UEFA will be require to hand over any documents we deem relevant - anything from the last 10 years that refers to us! A high stakes game that UEFA will never play.

That's all it is, and not just confined to this country. You see it with Trump who, in essence, is actually not far from the truth when he labels stuff as Fake News.

They jump on the bandwagon, give it another twist or spin, dress it up as informed or a new story, citing nothing more than their own sources and insiders.

They don't exist, it's just keeping the pot bubbling and driving an agenda.

City are a bit like Trump, the levels of news hysteria are driven by the fact that the majority don't like him, so it serves an end game. That, or they appeal to the masses, which drives profits anyhow through clicks.
