This is the huge problem especially with the PL now involved. If we are penalised & the likes of Utd, Arsenal, Liverpool, Real, Barca & Bayern don't deem it sufficient what happens then? Utd & Liverpool could threaten to pull out of the PL. The big European teams could threaten to pull out of the CL. If these teams aren't competing then the money that the PL & UEFA make would be drastically reduced. I don't see either body willing to take that kind of hit.
Lol.

What and forfeit all that lovely cash? Don't make me laugh.

The lead byeline on the story is Paul Joyce. He is a Merseyside-based journalist who has strong sources at Liverpool FC and has also contributed to some Liverpool FC fan sites and podcasts. You can draw your own conclusion but I am sure the Times story is true. It's a clear smear campaign. I am not blaming the Times for reporting it but the behaviour of these clubs involved in the letter is a disgrace. The story says the clubs are "planning to send the letter" so it may just be an attempt to stir up some more dirt.
Of course it's a smear campaign. Our haters are going to milk it for all its worth, embellish and omit as they see fit, in order to paint us in the worst possible light.

To them, we are a very real enemy who threaten their club's success and prosperity for decades to come. Anything they can do to damage us, they will do.

Can someone clear up who are investigating us ?
What each body are looking into ?
And what sanctions each body can hit us with worse case scenario

It's also possible that something that looks like a duck, walks like duck and quacks like a duck is actually not a duck but a clever penguin in disguise. This is rarely the case however.

Usually things are as they appear.
Kind of important where the information comes from though and how it's presented... since this "something" we are talking about is information and is open to manipulation.

And to use your own outdated phrase, when those sources look like bullshitters, walk like bullshitters, talk and write like bullshitters, then they might actually be a bunch of saints that shoot rainbows out their arses and would never lie for a story or misrepresent anything but that's rarely the case.

"media watchers estimate that 80% of UK citizens news comes from the BBC"

You can't possibly think that's true?

Which "media watchers"?

"Extremely left wing BBC"?? Is this the same BBC which books Nigel Ferage every time someone mentions the word "Brexit" in a pub? The same BBC that has Andrew Neil, the editor of The Spectator heading up the majority of its political output?

If that's "Extremely left-wing" I'd hate to see what "balanced and fair" looks like.

I think people are a little misguided in thinking that because people don't spend their 30p at the corner shop to buy a newspaper that the UK press no longer have any influence.

Huge numbers read their news from newspaper websites every day. The papers are struggling commercially to monetise that, but it doesn't mean the papers don't still hold huge sway in forming opinions.

How do you think we get the baying mobs about Shamima Begum and City with FFP? They're getting the information from somewhere.

Even if it's from Facebook, the people sharing it on Facebook initially are getting it from somewhere. Often, the original source is a news organisation and it's written with a political slant to appeal to the people sharing it.

If you think Brexit would have happened without the Daily Mail, then I think you're bonkers.

Calling someone who disagrees with you 'bonkers' isn't an argument.

I said the influence of the printed press has declined, not that it has disappeared.

If you think that the the BBC isn't the most influential media organisation in this country or that it is unbiased I don't think that you're dealing with reality. Try...

Every single body out there. The government now believe we manipulated the brexit vote to undermine UEFA so are investigating too.

I didn’t call you bonkers, mate. I said if you don’t think the Daily Mail had an influence on Brexit then you were bonkers.

But you seem to accept they probably did.

I had a quick read of your Civitas article. It’s a right wing Quango so I’m not sure how impartial they are to the subject.

I was going to dig out an article that suggests the BBC have given too much air time to Nick Griffin, Tommy Robinson, Nigel Ferage etc and have been seen by some to be irresponsible in helping to normalise extreme right-wing views in the drive to provide “fair and balanced air time” to all political pursuations.

But I didn’t need to.

Your own article by Civitas suggests the BBC’s EU coverage has been “presented through the prism of party politics, particularly those of the Conservative party.”

It goes on to say “Left-wing advocates of leaving the EU have been given even less air-time”.

And this is the article you choose to back up your point that the BBC is “extreme left-wing”? Come on, mate.

You are allowed related sponsors as long as they are deemed fair value.....
What does it matter if sheikh mansour has topped up the deals?

Is £40m a season from Etihad even a great deal??

Not any more. The Rags deal with Chevrolet is rumoured to be worth over £50m a year and they have a separate training kit with Aon rumoured to be worth £15m a season. I would I thought given where City are now in the world rankings, a ground naming and kit deal would comfortable be worth £60 to £70m a year.
