“The former child star changed his stance in an interview with CNN’s Headline News on Wednesday after sparking online backlash, saying that as a survivor of sexual abuse and champion for victims everywhere, he can “no longer defend” Jackson.

Maybe over simplifying things but I do wonder how many of us would settle out of court when accused of abuse. Personally I would fight until the end. And if I was found guilty knowing I was innocent I would not stop appealing.

I will grant that if you a a multi millionaire and it costs you a fraction of your overall fortune you may think different in order to bring things to a conclusion. I’ve never been in that position so can’t comment. However it does nothing to help dispel the accusations in reality. If anything it points to guilt.

And I might be wrong but it seems the settlement was made after the accuser could accurately describe Jackson’s cock.

This sort of thing should be easy to prove or disprove. Either a bank statement or even just a huge otherwise unexplained upturn in their life in terms of where they live, car they drive etc etc

I would indeed. But you said “prove or disprove” and I was making the point that the law requires much stronger, more direct evidence. Which is why certain individuals manage to carry on doing what they do for so long.

Not sure if we are getting crossed wires here. I was saying it would be easy to prove/disprove a £2m payment. Via a bank statement for example. Or even just a serious upturn in tangibles without explanation
