Jadon Sancho

Tbh I’ve not followed the thread so no I’ve not seen anything against him.
I’d rather not either I can make my own mind up by watching the matches he has played in....
Is he some supersonic amazeball £100m+ player that is being portrayed by the UK media?
No
Is he a young emerging talent who can go a long bloody way in this game if it goes right for him?
Yes of course.
Am I bitter he left for Dortmund?
No
Would I rather have Mahrez or him in our squad? (at the present time at least) Mahrez all day long.
Im glad you can make your own mind up about his ability.and we both agree its media hype re 100m etc
But the lad, imo, has to be credited ,for making his own mind up....and choosing regular 1st team football, inc champions league..away from City.
There were no guarantees of that here.none at all.Just looking at his situation, thru none blue tinted glasses...i do wish him all the best, without any bitterness...a young lad has achieved first team football, champions league footy, and is now a full international. Whats not to like?
You make your own mind up on his talent. The player made his own.your an observer.Sancho is the player.

Anyone who says he is shite is a mug.
The media need to lay off him with the pressure and hyseria they are creating around him.
He is a teenager when all is said and done, he needs to be left alone.
It’s all media led! same old UK arse wipe journos!
I hope he does well in Germany at Dortmund but as for a £100m transfer spurned on by the tabloids nobody would go for that.

‘City let Sancho go as they don’t give English talent a chance in their team, but look Dortmund did and he is now worth 100m’ lol
Shame on City ;) media love shit like this. Parasites.

I saw Lakey play, so sad he was destined for the top.
In many ways..my favourite ever City player.so few would have seen the talent he showed for City.before the days of every match bring tekevised, and playing for City in the lower division.i..somehow.missed one of his greatest games for us..vWatford (saw Forest at Maine rd )in the lc run under Machin.i still have the independent newspaper cuttings from the two matches.neither watford or forest knew what had hit them that night..The graceful tall central midfielder running the first division teams defence ragged ,with the ball tied to his foot breaking from midfield and running straight at the exposed defence...think phil foden in the charity sheild v chelsea...those sorts of midfield players are not produced very often....not to mention his performances in every outfield posistion, for City,in his short career....

Sancho is a stellar talent but that often does not make a future world-class player. Though we would all like to see Phil gaining more competitive minutes, young players should be nurtured without the gaze of the world's media. They should also really have to earn their minutes ahead of world-class players so they remain humble and grateful. It may sound a little old-fashioned in today's social media age, but when we think of the most talented young players, those who haven't quite made it, or whose careers burned out quicker than they should, often had 'too much too soon'.

PSG is quoted and i find it weird.

I mean, the few times i saw him, his talent was obvious and i wouldn't mind him at Paris at all. The reported fee is a problem though for PSG that is cash-strapped with FFP in their arse and that need to reinforce other areas of the pitch aswell. We were in for de Jong at around 75 M, that means we have identified that position to be crucial and that massive investment will be needed there. Don't see how we could be in for a 100 M+ english winger. I add the english part because that will make his value raise when a club like United is interested in.
Seems a non story on the part of PSG. Interested in him, yes. All clubs like talent. Ready to fork out that stupendous fee is another matter.

I'm convinced this story is coming from his agent. He's done a superb job for Jadon so far and if he can negotiate a massive move this summer he will have every half decent British under 20 player in the Prem knocking down his door for his representation

Paul lake would of been a city legend and captain in any era including the modern day
I had no real clue as to his ability before he left; others hv watched him in our youth teams and i understand he was highly rated..
I just see him as someone brave enough to trust his ability ,get 1st team football and take a gamble.

A footballers career can be so short..who wants to wait??
..i,m so glad City were skint in the late 80s snd i was able to watch, live,Paul Lake..play in our first team at right back(Shrewsbury Town at home) left back ,centre half ,, central midfield. ,left midfield(utd5-1) right midfield ,and centre forward (everton away LC QF)..Paul Lake coming thru now would have to sit on the bench watching our expensive imports ....If i had Lakes ability...i,d have been off...his career cut short thru injury...i,m proud to say i saw him play.
A modern day Paul Lake would have no chance at City.and thats quite sad..purely my opinion.

Re Sancho,i dispise the media hype.. ,but can only say "well done" for having the balls to say yes to Dortmund.in the same way he had the confidence to leave Watford for City.Good luck to the lad.

Happy for the lad doing well at Dortmund, but I'll be fuming if he signs for those tossers in Trafford. Media wouldnt let us forget it every day either. Hopefully he'll stay at Dortmund or go to PSG.

I agree with pretty much everything you said but in today's world where players have more power/control thanks to agents. The bottom line is Sancho was never going to get the amount of game time here that maybe he wanted. He was never going to get past Sane or Sterling in the pecking order. There is obviously a niche in German football for young British talent who maybe can't get the game time they crave over here. (Reece Oxford being on loan at Augsburg and Hudson-Odoi being linked with Bayern are other examples). I can't really see a change to that anytime soon. Also, I think that young players now don't get giving the opportunity to progress at a steady pace thanks to the media and agents. As soon as a young player has a bit of an impact on the pitch the media are leaping praise and attention on them and in return that just fuels the player's egos and their agent's demands.

He's an absolutely fantastic young player. We don't have to slag him off just because he left us; he joined in 2015 and left in 2017. That being said, I really wouldn't be that upset if United splashed out £100m+ on him. Imagine the pressure of being one of the first of this generation going abroad and finding great success, to return and be the 19-year old £100m man. Any poor performance and he'll get slated in the media. I personally hope he doesn't join United this summer for his own sake, not ours. He could do with another couple seasons at Dortmund - then at 21 decide if he wants to come back to England or if he has performed well enough to gain interest from the other top European sides.

That’s a very good assessment and we see it with Phil Foden every time he plays for the first XI.

Pep is specifically asked if he’s going to get more game time or if he’s going out on loan.

He’s only 18, for fuck's sake; let the lad develop in his (and our) own time.

If he joined the rags? Do you honestly believe that?

History would be instantly re-written and he'd have been born into the Rag's academy set up and suckled at Giggsy's tit.

That’s my point.

@KCblue said that any poor performance by Sancho, if he becomes a rag, and he will be slated in the media.

But that’s not going to happen, is it? When has a rag ever been slated in the media?

Not a great week. Out of the CL and down to 2nd in the League.
Still in the race for the German title then...and last 16 champions league experience for a youngster, which has undoubtedly helped propell him into the england squad. Didnt harm Raheem at Liverpool....His career is developing nicely, imo.Weather he can maintain his intial career burst is another matter, but thats football, and every player has the pressure (enjoyment?) of " your only as good as your last game" ..every professional in the world; Thats Football.
Joining Dortmund was a smart move for the kid, wish him all the best tbh
