I made that point on the previous page,it's different apparently.......
Ahh read it, so I understand that rodri is more loyal to athletico madrid than Laporte was to Bilbao ?
How does it matter ? Only mercinaries join city ! ;)

Ive never heard of him up until this week.Is he a similar build to Laporte?
To put it simple, he's a slightly more mobile version of Busquets without Busi's 'futsal' footwork.Ive never heard of him up until this week.Is he a similar build to Laporte?
Yep,i saw that in the brief highlights above.CheersTo put it simple, he's a slightly more mobile version of Busquets without Busi's 'futsal' footwork.
He's closer to Jorginho/De Jong than to Dinho in terms of skillset. But unlike De Jong he's a genuine defensive specialist.
No, he's an academy player of Atletico - he played one season with Villarreal's B team before returning. There are a number of examples of this in Spain, where academy players for one reason or another are marginalized or underrated, released and somehow yet still eager to return to their home club. Rodri was always going back to Atletico
It'll be interesting to see how this may develop. I think he never quite reaches his potential under Simeone but we'll see

It is rare for him to misplace a pass. This season, in La Liga, he has a 90.2 percent pass success rate, higher than Busquets’s 89.9%.
we could get paddy power to announce the signingIs he part Welsh?
didnt we have an agreement with JorginhoWhat happened with the fact that we already had an agreement with some player?
Sorry, I got the info from Transfer market I don't now how reliable they are. https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/rodrigo/profil/spieler/357565

So if we agree terms with the player....he is ours ?
Simply pay the release clause
It's been reported in the past that City backed out of deals because they didn't feel like the player was 100% behind the move. Would Txiki even bother being interested in a player like Rodri if he didn't get word that he would like to join City?It echoes what I posted earlier, he came through Atletico's academy from the age of 11, released at 17 and had only one full season with Villarreal's B team (even debuting with the first team in 2015) before officially promoted to the 1st team. Unless you think 30-40 youth matches constitutes academy product then he's a youth product of Atletico. Sancho played more for City's youth sides and I'd still not consider him a City youth product
IF terms are agreed with the player but there's no indication that has happened, paying the clause only facilitates a transfer if the player agrees to terms as well.
For those who watch him more how is his range of passing? From the highlight videos it’s all very safe and straightforward. You can see the obvious comparisons to Busquets because of size and position but Busquets just ticks that team over so well playing well weighted diagonals, often skipping a player to get the ball wide quickly. Does he have this maestro ability?
We have de Bruyne, Bernardo and foden for the maestro side mate? Also I think city will sell gundogan in the summer and bring someone else in as Merlin seems to be dropping off at a rapid pace :-(

No, so I agree if Txiki is actually engaged in talks with the player's agent then City have long done their homework and already gotten Pep's blessing. Not sure it necessarily means the player has left City the impression he would even consider a move.
I'm thinking from the perspective of a particular profile of footballers in Spain, cantera & local - they dream to thrive at their local club. Allure of Pep for a pivote like him is also natural for any footballer in Spain, even from the capital so I could see even a diehard have his head turned. It's a natural link to make even without any credible rumours to fuel it is all. I would just find it hard to believe Rodri would be tempted this soon after returning but Pep is Pep
Just a lot of variables that would make this an unlikely move for the player but if the links are legitimate then there's no question Pep targeted him specifically. Pep can get some transfers wrong or less than ideal but never when it comes to a midfielder. He sees something, certainly more than I would've but Guardiola knows this position better than anyone
Trust in Pep, Rodri or otherwise
Thanks for your input. I guess one good thing is that if he's the player you say he is and dreams about playing at their local club then it would be highly unlikely someone else like United or Bayern coming in and stealing him. Hopefully it's either Pep or no one.
