Nobody is saying we should have stuck five in. But we are a team that scores plenty of goals and in a competition where away goals count more, it would have been nice to see a bit more attacking intent or maybe for us to have changed things earlier.

Of course we can still turn it around but we've made it really hard for ourselves.
1-0 is not a hard score to turn around, 2-0 and i would be twitching, the battle is not to concede because i cant see us putting 3 past them on the night

Do you not think Pep was trying to avoid ‘doing a Liverpool away’ and being out in the 1st leg?

Liverpool away was another one with a really odd team selection though. We lost that game in the first half hour with Gundogan inexplicably being played out on the right wing and Liverpool absolutely overrunning us for the first half hour. Spurs never looked like doing that.

If we were worried about another Liverpool type game then maybe we shouldn't have put Silva in the team because he simply doesn't seem capable of making an impact in these kind of games at the moment. If he wanted to rest KDB he could have thrown Foden in for me because Silva has just been missing in action since xmas.

Realistically that wasn't the worst, we were never going to win every game from here on out and if I had to pick a game to lose recently this would be it and a 1-0 loss is recoverable. If we lost to Brighton we were out, if we lose to Palace it'll be tough in the PL, same with Spurs in the league. I'm confident enough with it, if we're all up for the game we could easily beat them 2-0/3-0

Hoddle, Ferdinand and Lineker talking as if Fernandinho tried to kill Kane with his elbow...Jesus Christ....how pathetic.

One positive thing I noticed that the players were not one bit phased by the "hostile atmosphere" the press wanted to be a factor.

They looked too relaxed if anything at times. So it looks as though if that was a reason for those 9mins at Anfield, they've learned from it and benefited with experience.

Laporte is not a left back. But even if we did play him there, we would have missed out at center back. Liverpool wouldn't stick Van Dijk at right-back just because the right back option wasn't perfect - Delph's error for the goal was schoolboy-esque

If the Dippers played VVK at right back they would fall to pieces , the drop in quality from Otto and Laporte to Otto and Stones or Vinny and Otto it is minimal , and Laporte has performed superbly at left back when required , Pep got it wrong tonight , not often he does , but he f*cked up big time.

I said before the game the biggest threat to us not winning was Pep overthinking it and picking a silly team.

And so it proved.

If he’d played those 11 players in their proper positions it wouldn’t be so bad, but 44fucking2? What’s he thinking there?

Our 2 best attributes are high and wide wingers isolating their fullbacks, and and extra man in midfield dominating possession. But that shape today negated both of those things. Absolutely bizarre!

Keeping it simple:-

Subpar performance

Winning run was bound to come to an end in a hectic period

P**sed off we haven't gone all out to get an away goal

Did you notice all these hand gesture celebrations from Son and co at the final whistle in front of KDB . Time to turn up next week and pummel these b******

Thoroughly s**** night but time for us fans to back the lads next week. They'll certainly need it akin to the Liverpool game

He’s golden boy, guess no mention of his pathetic dive holding his face the ugly ****?

Is it just me that would prefer Kane to be playing? Tottenham are a far better outfit without him. He's an out and out donkey. Don't care how many goals he has scored, He's so over rated.

He played left back against Liverpool in January and Salah didn’t have a touch. We had Kompany and Stones on the bench.

Delph shouldn’t even be traveling with the team now.
