Apparently somewhere it is written that only a Targaryen can ride a dragon. Also, if John wants to take over from Dany as king of the whole thing, he'll need to be able to control the dragons.
Regarding the symbols the 'hot' theory is that it's the Night King taunting his opponents about the shelf-life of frozen food vs cooked (besides the obvious 'leg of lamb' imagery', we know that food is scarce for dragons and soldiers alike... and earlier in the episode Tyrion clearly mentions the Onion sygil), so it's believed the scene foreshadows the emergence of Hotpie as contender for the Iron Throne

Well he is over 8000 years old if he is the same one the free folk created in the flashback

the writers said that only a Targaryen can ride a dragon in the interviews after the end credits
There's nothing in the show to suggest this. We only know that the Night King was once a man, not that he belonged to any particular house.He himself is Targaryen?
I thought the Night King was from the Stark house and he was Brandon the breakers brother originally?
Also did anyone else notice that last season when Cersei was quizzed about being pregnant by Tyrion she wasn’t drinking wine? Then in the first episode of season 8 after Euron slipped away with her she was drinking wine afterwards? So was she lying to Tyrion about being pregnant or has Euron forced her back to drinking already?
