Game of Thrones (season 8)

I began watching Game of Thrones two weeks ago and I am now up to date because once I began, having avoided it for years, I couldn't stop. I thought this week's episode was class, even though my fifty-year-old eyes couldn't see everything that was going on. I also thought that Arya being the one who ended it was a powerful statement. Sometimes, one just needs to be entertained. Were you not entertained?
Blimey that's some going! Isn't that something like 5 episodes a day for 2 weeks?

The tension created during the first 10 minutes was incredible. Barely anything happened, barely anyone said anything, but it was utterly gripping.

Started, but didn't finish, watching it again last night and that bit really is superbly constructed on the whole. If I was being really picky, the opening tracking shot sequence does feature a bit where it looks like Tyrion is waiting for the camera to go by.

I set my picture to cimema rather than standard (never normally change from standard) and that definitely helped; be interesting to see if it does so all the way through.

I’m just waiting for us to win the domestic treble and then I’m going to fall down the stairs, lose my memory and watch it all from the start will sipping my dinner through a straw.

I loved the scene where the first group charged on horseback, their flaming scimitars wielded overhead, only to be snuffed out one by one until it was darkness. At that point you could see the 'oh fuck' dawning on everyone. And after the battle, when a lot of the dead had been 'killed', they were summoned back into action again.
