I thought by the time he came on Spurs were so far into parking the bus mode that he was never going to do very well.

This, he is at his best when he has room to run into. Was daft by Pep, may as well throw on Jesus and theres half a chance he bundles one in or comes off the back of his head and drops over the line. Then again he would have likely scored a winner and been flagged off side.

Yep agree that he wasn't effective and the change could've been made sooner. Just think that he showed great attitude when he got on and didn't play like someone who wanted out.

I agree. To be honest I would have left it as it was for the last 10. He seems out of favour currently for whatever reason and his 10 min cameo won’t have helped as he lost the ball 2/3 times right in front of Pep.

I don't think Pep will care about that - he's always said that he expects his wingers to lose the ball a lot, they're trying to beat players 1v1 or 2v1 and it's a case of you try 10 times, fail 7 but create 3 goal scoring opportunities with the others.

I think Sané could have been an attacking sub brought on with Fernandinho for Aguero. At that point the game was so wide open, Sane would have had a few chances to break with Sterling against only 1 or 2 defenders as Spurs went for it.

But at the same time, making that switch is a gamble you probably don't need to make if Laporte doesn't fall asleep at the corner.

I completely disagree, Bernardo is much better in tight spaces, he can beat people with 3 or 4 players surrounding him in the box. Sané excels when he's 1v1 with a bit of space behind so he can use his pace and change of direction. When there's 2 rows of defence, and the guy facing up to Sané knows he can stand his ground, he doesn't have much success.

that free kick v Shalke was one of the biggest moments in the CL this season but Pep wouldn't trust him in the quarters ,which was wrong,Sane getting down the left and only Sterling with the pace to get to the cross is a go to way for City to score easily

Have to feel like he's on the way out. I so so so hope I am wrong though. I still have visions of him being converted into a central attacker and taking his game up another few levels.

Thought he was superb against Palace, no idea what's going on. I've never seen a problem with his attitude or work rate when he plays, give him a run of games and a lot of the sloppiness/switching off goes away. His laid back style is part of what makes him so good, offset by the intensity of Sterling/Mahrez on the other flank.

I think Pep just really likes Sterling on the left (where his output has been sensational) and doesn’t like Sané on the right, which is a big problem for Leroy’s playing time.

Doesn't seem to give him chance to play there though. His left foot looks to be the dream combination for that right hand side. I look back at the goal v Liverpool for example a year back in the 5-0 as an example.

I will argue till the end of time that Bernardo should be moved back into Davids spot and Sane on the right. Sterling scores goals on either side but is doing really well on the left at the moment.

Should give Sane more opportunities on the right tbh if you wanna persist with Raz on the left. I mean when he was signed he was predominantly a right winger. If he goes to Madrid he's going to be primarily a right winger.
