You could hear the excitement in the crowd when he was on the ball ir when he was making his runs in behind that were never found.

Leaving him out of the Germany WC squad has to go down as one of the biggest fuck ups in football, ever.Even more so than the Rags' signing Sanchez.
I really like Sane. At the same time, when he first came into our squad he had issues... didn't put in a shift on defense. Pep soon straightened that out.

So with Germany, perhaps there was a little issue with regard to following the manager's instructions; coupled with - quite honestly - extremely poor performances in his two appearances in games leading up to the WC - Low was left with a close decision, IMO. Decided to leave Sane out - but it wasn't wholly unwarranted given performances and perhaps player attitude at the time.

He didn't have too many 'issues' as his YPOTY award evidenced. In regards a couple of extremely poor performances for Germany,he wasn't alone....many of his teammates were struggling too.He is pretty much the only player they have who can turn a game on its head in an instant,he's a match winner at any given time.I suspect it was maybe even something of a statement decision,by an egotistical coach, that badly backfired,as the decision to exclude such ability was nothing short of idiotic.

I think he was referring to the 16/17 season where Sane was integrated into the first 11 gradually over the period of months. He did appear to need to work harder.
