He just wants the headlines. You can compliment someone and say they're one of the best without making yourself look like you know nothing about the game.

You couldn’t make it up.

Porch moaning in his presser that Ajax have a longer break going into their first leg SF match?

Anyone got video of him bemoaning the fact Sours has six days to our two before the QF?

Three (and a bit) days. Not two.

I’m not sure that his choice of words is the best (bearing in mind that his English is still somewhat limited) but it wasn’t the mere fact of Ajax’s longer rest that he was talking about. He was specifically responding to a question about the Eredivisie postponing a whole round of matches in order to help Ajax.

Two days
Played Saturday.
Rest Sunday - day 1
Rest Monday - day 2
Play Tuesday

But even if you were correct on three days, that’s half the rest time Spurs had. Didn’t hear a peep out of him then did we. He’s a fucking hypocrite moaning cûnt. And he’s gonna end up trophy-less once again.

What a pile of shit, oh a spurs fan, say no more, carry on.

Then he should stop trying to speak English then and do his interviews in his native tongue. You previously used his “poor English” as an excuse when he said winning trophies breeds egos.
Maybe he knows exactly what he’s saying but back tracks hiding behind poor English once the fallout happens. The guy’s a bit of a hypocrite.

Completely this.

Every game has sold out quickly. Members only. No tickets have made it to general sale yet. To be expected, really. A bit disappointing that some who do have tickets have failed to turn up.

Re the issue of reporting tickets sold rather than actual attendance, you’d have thought that the likes of Arsenal would be embarrassed to claim an attendance of c. 59K when there are likely less than 40K in the stadium - as happened once or twice last season.

It happened in our League game there just after the League Cup final last season.

If it’s plainly obvious that the attendance is down on what ticket sales says it should be, why not just keep it off the tannoy, rather than embarrassing yourselves?

I’m not sure it’s quite the sane thing Sam. We had an FA Cup semi against a team Spurs were due to play in the league that same weekend so naturally that game got postponed. There’s nothing the authorities can do about that. I’ll confess to not hearing these latest comments but he’s made a point previously of how other European leagues move league fixtures around to help any teams they have left in European competition - I’ve often seen German and Spanish teams get their league fixtures brought forward to a Friday night if they have a European game the following midweek - whereas Premier League teams never get that same help. He’s not the first manager to complain about it. Pellegrini did it in his last season with us, fielding a scratch team against Chelsea in the FA Cup in protest.

Maybe that knob could have just done a few checks, I know that's not the talksite way. But he would have seen Barca had 2 la liga and one champions league in the previous 10 seasons. Hardly the European Cup winning super team he said Pep inherited

How do you work that one out if we played on the Saturday and again on the Tuesday? You can't count the day you play as a days rest. Also for Pep even though he stresses the importance of the rest, the preparation time is equally important. Pep would have wanted more time to work on a gameplan to beat you away from home and he had to split what little time there was for recovery and fitness.

The only thing I'd say is, I can't recall Poch making any comment on the extra time Spurs had, so him saying it's a bit unfair for a team to have that advantage doesn't exactly make him a hypocrite. Other than, the same thing may have had a factor in his team getting this far to begin with.

Doesn’t matter a jot if it’s the same thing. He’s moaning now because Ajax have more rest days ahead of a big match. If he wanted to be honest, he could have bemoaned that whilst acknowledging that his team benefitted from additional rest days in the last round.

Ok, I’ve just seen the quotes and I’m going to take back what I said. He’s saying that if it was the other way round and they had way more rest than Ajax, he’d be admitting it wasn’t fair on Ajax. Cheeky fucker never said anything along those lines when they played us in the last round! I just assumed he was reiterating his previous comments about clubs in other leagues getting more help than Premier League clubs when it comes to preparation time for European fixtures.
