Question Time

I’m not sure how you can be a self confessed (uncle Nige) Farage fan engaged in the Brexit discussion and somehow seem to have missed the fallout from that campaign poster.
A total cop out to say “I didn’t know” to feign ignorance when called out about it. If he genuinely didn’t know about it (yeah right) he should at least go away and do some research before commenting on it for fear of looking silly.
Bottom line is the fans of Uncle Nige don’t care that he is happy to use Nazi imagery and don’t care that he lies all the time and don’t care that he hasn’t got a clue how to deliver Brexit. It’s weird.

Huge fallout was it? Must have slept through that, I don’t need to do any research on this poster I have your unbiased view on the subject. I shall vote for the brexit party because I want brexit, simple as really. I’m sure you vote for morally nice guys which is quite lucky as the only ones around appear to be on your side of the fence. Very fortunate indeed.

By the way your first sentence was another bit of propaganda but I will let it slide, it’s all you have.

Did I just hear a woman call the Brexit party "a bunch of Jeremy Hunts" ?

She will have nicked it off twitter no doubt and one of those #FBPE comedians.

Name calling is about all they have right now as things still dont go their way and they cant understand why that is.

Just been on fb asking a few brexit party luvies why they are voting for him...

90% come back with just insults or asides to my sanity for asking what attracts them to vote for a manifesto-less party, the rest ask what have labour, conclub or liberal backstabbers done for us in the past 40 years...

I tend to agree that liblabcon haven't done us any favours, but seriously doubt Farage will be any better. Thatcher lite or new Tories doesn't bode any better than old Tory tbf.

Torries used the same poster in the late seventies. Labour isn't working. There wasn't the outcry by then. To me it sounds as if some are looking at anything to grasp at and try and turn it against Farage just because they dont agree with his views. A balanced view is always best I find. I am sure the vast majority of people in this country didn't see anything offensive in that poster that the agenda driven left wing remain media focussed on.

Does it not bother you at all that after the referenum result, the twat is now saying "I never promised it would be a huge success"?

Are you try I g to tell me a politician tells porkies. Where have you been all your life chippy? Lol Personally it made no difference to me what he or any of them said. I made the decision to vote how I did based on my experience of being in the EU.

If 17.4m people had voted on the same basis, doubtless Remainers wouldn't be so up in arms about it. Sadly that's not the case.

Given the public were significantly in favour of Remain before the campaign started, it's clear a large number were indeed influenced by the lies.

How many do you think were influenced by the blatant lies of the remain camp?

Advertising works. Leave advertised very well and still are doing - I find it remarkable that people who still want to leave find the basics of advertising so difficult to grasp. Maybe not you, but advertising a better future than currently on offer was(is) obviously appealing

The remain camp did exactly the same. Their lies were proffered and backed by the establishment.

That isn't quite true. Leave campaigned on a brighter future i.e an optimistic pick and mix of the world. Remain had no optimism whatsoever, it was Project Fear but as it turns out it's looking more like project fact - Leave had the better campaign, primarily as they were making it up as they went a long and had a little bit for everyone. From less immigration, to more trade. Whereas Remain spoke about house prices going down and interests rates going up - people who have no money and don't own a house would feel that doesn't apply to them but Polish people coming for their jobs does

We are going widely off topic, so I will leave(no pun intended) it here

I'm not aware of any blatant lies. And in any event, a lesser number.

But as I've said before, is your position that the referendum result should be cast in stone, unable to be questioned or challenged, on the basis that BOTH sides lied extensively and influenced the referendum result? In a court of law, when new evidence comes to light, verdicts can be challenged and ultimately deemed unsafe and retrials or acquitals can result. Odd that we'd afford such protection to individuals, but not to the entire country.

You seem to have some trouble understanding the word "lie".

For example, "George Osborne predicted tax rises and spending cuts would be implemented. To date, no changes to the planned tax rates or public spending have been implemented. So, another lie".

This waa a prediction. There's no evidence it was a lie.

Contrast, "The money saved from leaving the EU will result in the NHS getting £350m a week". This was not a prediction. It was a lie.

"Turkey's 76m people are joining the EU - Good News?" Another lie.

"We can't stop Turkey joining". Lie

"We can't control our borders in the EU" Lie.

"The EU's accounts are never even signed off". Lie.

"60 to 70 percent of our laws come from the EU" Lie.

even, "We thought we were only joining a free trade zone". This maybe just a misconception to be fair, since the truth is widely forgotten. But the 1975 referendum explored fully the future direction of the EU and that ultimately it might result in closer political union. And we voted to remain on that basis.

I think it ridiculous that you are trying to separate one politicians lies from another just because it suits your agenda. Totally ridiculous. Wake up and smell the coffee man!

I'm not suggesting the Remain camp was squeaky clean, what I am suggesting that they did not tell wholesale and widespread lies, unlike the Leave camp, which did. This is not because of how I voted or because of my "agenda", it's because it's what I think is true.

And if it's not, then go ahead and let's here what the copious Remain lies were. Should be easy enough... I'm happy tell you what the Leave lies were. I've given you half a dozen already.

There's a vast difference between making predictions such as we'll need to have an emergence budget, which didn't happen because the bloke who was going to call one got fired... and saying "We cannot prevent Turkey from joining the EU", which is not a prediction, it's a bare-faced lie.
