Another wonderful quote from the BBC a few minutes ago

Owners Fenway Sports Group (FSG) don't just want to splash out, take a punt or spend for the sake of it; they'd rather be nimble, brave, smart and strategic.
Thought they were going to up their game next season too.Shame

What we are dealing with is the national broadcaster and their sports department, funded by the Tax Payer, running a targeted and negative campaign against Manchester City Football Club.

Manchester City: 'Battered' Liverpool fans song draws criticism

Looks who's crawled from under his rock?
That is a lot of bitter bile he's spouted there. Here's just a selection

"Their domestic rivals will not be compensated for the pollution they have created in the English game."

"City simply have to win Europe’s biggest competition to be taken seriously as a big club"

"Guardiola has had the luxury of making a few disastrous signings and blowing £100m and brushing it off as if he had dropped a penny, but no other club in the Premier League can just spend and spend again if they make transfer mistakes on that scale."

"What happens if Manchester City win the domestic treble in England for the next five years? Will anyone still be interested in watching the Premier League aside from their relatively modest fanbase?"

There's more if you want a laugh

Yep may as well be celtic lol.

I think it’s odd that a lot of radio talk shows are asking if Liverpool winning the champions league will it eclipse city’s success, and would we swap it etc.... well firstly no to both, but it’s interesting that nobody mentions if Spurs win it, would it eclipse our achievements. It’s almost like Spurs win it and nothing changes, but Liverpool win it and it’s a monumental feat! There are two teams in the final, everyone! COYS!

Maybe I'm missing something here but how can the song be connected to Hillsborough and Cox?
Its cant. They just want it to be. In fact they are desperate for it to be. So much so they believe the more they grieve and moan and protest. Then magically the words will change and it will become the truth and satisfy their snowflake victim nature

Seeing as that waste of oxygen Ewan McKenna still doesn't appear to have published his all seeing, all damning scoop article on City's owners being directly responsible for war, famine, disease and death on an industrial scale in Yemen I just checked his Twitter feed and this is his latest tweet.

Can get past lying and buying way to victory, but if my club were singing about victims of violence in celebration and my owners were creating tens of thousands of victims via war crimes, I just wouldn't support the club, at least not until it was all change. Why is that so hard?

As it happens I don't do Twitter but maybe a BMer who does or knows of another medium by which to contact him could kindly point out to him:
  • The famine in Yemen was caused by Houthi rebels blockading Red Sea ports thereby preventing huge amounts of food aid getting into the country.
  • The Houthi rebels are financed and supplied with arms by Iran.
  • Standard Chartered have been laundering money for Iran for years.
  • Standard Chartered were fined $370 million in 2014 and $1.1 BILLION in 2019 for said money laundering.
  • Standard Chartered have been Liverpool's main sponsors since 2010 and have had their deal extended to 2023.
  • Standard Chartered use profits made directly from Iran and by extension war, famine, disease and death in Yemen to pay Liverpool sponsorship money.
  • Ewan McKenna is a bitter hate filled hypocrite.
Class. But sorry I dont do twatter so cant help

So after winning the league, we've chucked a pint of beer over Ratboy, players have sung an absolutely disgraceful song about Sean Cox ( which they haven't at all), we're getting a 1 year champs league ban and now Pep doesn't like to be away from his family and will seek a return to Spain. This league title victory has hurt these fucking parasites like no other, and the shitstorm is only just starting, imagine if we win on Saturday, going to be brilliant.
And apparently our owners have killed 50'000 children in Yemen. Other than that alls good.

I listen to a lot of football podcasts and since the win I've not heard from Rudd, Evans, Bascombe, Barrett and so on.

Are they alright?

The club should have a media ban this Saturday, no interviews or comments to or with the media at all .

And there’s the rub, all of Liverpool’s opponents have been belittled by the media sycophants which is why they are universally despised, though they don’t see it

Spot on.

I find the coverage Liverpool receive from the broadcasting media embarrassing.

It almost feels like the press are overly sensitive and desperate to be politically correct towards Liverpool, like they're some kind of minority group.

(X-posted from another thread)

So satisfying, this title win, in the teeth of so much flak coming the club's way.

I'm freelancing at Sky at the moment. Two weeks ago I saw a designer working on an email to Sky Sports customers headed 'Congratulations Liverpool.'

'Where's the City one?' I asked.

'Not been told to do one.'

'AVE IT!
