Question Time

What lies are these exactly?

And please let's remember the definition of lies, i.e. intentionally false statements.

If 17.4m people had voted on the same basis, doubtless Remainers wouldn't be so up in arms about it. Sadly that's not the case.

Given the public were significantly in favour of Remain before the campaign started, it's clear a large number were indeed influenced by the lies.

I'm not suggesting the Remain camp was squeaky clean, what I am suggesting that they did not tell wholesale and widespread lies, unlike the Leave camp, which did. This is not because of how I voted or because of my "agenda", it's because it's what I think is true.

And if it's not, then go ahead and let's here what the copious Remain lies were. Should be easy enough... I'm happy tell you what the Leave lies were. I've given you half a dozen already.

There's a vast difference between making predictions such as we'll need to have an emergence budget, which didn't happen because the bloke who was going to call one got fired... and saying "We cannot prevent Turkey from joining the EU", which is not a prediction, it's a bare-faced lie.
Goodness me you just can't see it can you. I think we shall have to leave it there.

If accusing me of lying is acceptable, then the response "fuck off, ****", is also acceptable. Seems fair.

And by the way, I don't lie. There's nothing I have stated on this forum EVER which has been a lie. Nothing.

Not an accusation the facts are there in black and white. Call me whatever you like I don’t make a fuss.
What on earth are you talking about??? I haven't told any lies, and there's nothing there in black or white.

There's nothing you quoted which is untrue, let alone being a lie.

If you can show me:-

How you spoke personally to the whole adult population
If you can show me all pre brexit polls that showed every one had significant leads for remain
If you can show me how accurate all polls are historically
If you can post all your evidence and exact numbers that show the numbers of voters who voted leave based on lies

I will then retract. I have a feeling though you posted an opinion based on your own personal bias as facts.

Or you could provide some examples of Remain campaign lies? It's starting to look like you can't actually produce any.
I sent you a link mate that detailed them. Up to you if you read it or believe them to be true lol.

Ps Let me know how the breakdown in western civilisation went pls, Sorry but I must have missed that when it happened! Lol

Given that in the 90s both Major and Blair 'smelt the coffee' and decided to campaign on the basis of promising a referendum and accordingly won electoral majorities, clearly gives the lie to the suggestion that the public was clearly pro-Remain

The usual logical fallacy. Promising a referendum (especially if both main parties are saying it) doesn't mean that determined the result. And as both parties thought a referendum would see off the rabidly anti-EU minority, because that's what the polls told them, the suggestion that the public was pro-Remain was not "given the lie".

I never know whether you make these specious arguments knowing they're specious or just don't get logical arguments.

I didn't claim ANY of those things, so I cannot be accused of lying about them. What a ridiculous and unnecessarily offensive post from you yesterday.

I read it, and pointed out to you that making predictions which don't turn out exactly as expected is not "lying".

Saying "We cannot prevent Turkey from joining the EU", whilst knowing that to be untrue is lying. Saying "We'll have to have an emergency budget" and then there not being one because you were fired first, is NOT lying.

This is not a difficult concept, and surprising therefore you seem to struggle with it.

Whatever pal. I tried my best. I will leave you to it.

Whatever mate. You talked about the blatant lies the Remain camp told, I asked you for examples, you provided only a biased article which talked about some failed predictions and some predictions which have yet to materialise but may which still. If you want to classify such as lies, it's up to you. You'd be entirely wrong, but it is up to you.

In your opinion. Lol

If we do eventually leave, and I won't hold my breath, let's see how many of the remain "predictions" come true

Referring to "a prediction" as "a lie", is wrong objectively. It's not a matter of opinion. A lie is something which someone says, KNOWING it to be untrue. I've yet to hear any comment from the Remain side about which that can definitively be said. Unlike several claims made by Leave side. It really is a simple distinction. Maybe there were some on the Remain side, I'm guessing there probably were. But no-one's providing me with any evidence so far, just trying to deflect from the fact that the Leave campaign did lie.

I will give you some help because I’m a nice bloke, in future don’t make a statement, a statement is a fact. Say something pretty basic like in my opinion or I predict. Otherwise people will rightly think you are lying because you don’t like not getting your way. Another helpful tip,if someone fundamentally disagrees with you today, and yesterday you can pretty much guarantee they will disagree with you tomorrow.

You haven’t a clue what the population as a whole thought about the Eu before, during or after the referendum and you don’t know how many voted based on the campaigns. To even suggest you know is a lie pure and simple.

You can now continue with propaganda remain and the only ones agreeing with you are fellow remainers.
